Security Lockdown - An addition to TUG implementation

I'd like to suggest that a second type of courier contract be added in Rhea.

Simply, a contract that would place a Security Lockdown on an assembled space vessel which renders it unusable until either delivered or until the security system has been hacked.

In implementation it would be no different really from a standard courier contract with the exceptions of the courier package only being able to consist of a vessel and its fittings/cargo and the courier package being a locked vessel item instead of generic plastic wrap which would be capable of being hauled in Orcas, Tugs and any other vessels with sufficiently large maintenance bays.

Should someone wish to abscond with the vessel they would not simply break the wrapper as they do with current packages but instead enter into the hacking mini-game. Should they fail the hack once they could choose to continue on with the courier delivery but a second failed attempt would cause a forfeiture of any collateral that was required for the contract and would initiate the ship's self destruct and result in the loot fairy determining whether or not they should be granted any bounty from their ill deeds.

No. If you want security, move it yourself or get sufficient collateral. If you want laziness, accept risk and sloppiness.

I would support the vessel contracts if they were added separately though.

"get an alt" should never be used a reason/excuse for something, game should encourage getting other players to interact with over getting an alt

And that's what collateral is for. Excellent example of player interaction right there.

One of ours, ten of theirs.

And the idea is not about absolute security, it is about adding a mechanic by which a person wanting the contents of the courier isn't going to be guaranteed success, thus enabling people to feel safer setting a lower collateral. What is the point of a bulk ship hauler if it is relegated to alts simply because the average person that might want to go into the hauling business cant afford several billion in collateral?

Also, short of direct trading there is no current mechanism that would allow for assembled ship courier work.

If they don't have the collateral they should start smaller, or get in with an investor (hey look, more player interaction!) from the Market Discussion forum. People ship packaged ships all the time - it doesn't change their inherent value. Several billion ISK worth of ships is still several billion ISK worth of ships, whether they're assembled or not.

I'm not saying its mandatory to get an alt, just that that is how i solved the problem...

He drives my orca to incursion zones and i fly my battleship down, that way i have everything i could possibly need on site...
