If this has been asked before I apologize in advance.

What the HELL happened back in the day with Capitals in High Sec?

Anytime I ask a vet all I get is "Oh man **** hit the fan" and that's all. SO ok, what was the **** that hit the fan? Especially with the debate over caps in high sec raging away, I would LOVE to know some Eve history on the subject. Thanks guys.

This may or may not have been a contributing factor.

I believe this what occurred, when folks were able to use capitals they would run tons of lvl 5 missions or 4's leaping their grinds in ranks and isk way faster than the newbs in the newbie zone.

then the cap pilots got mad and decided to attack newbies..

leaving master chribba all alone to mine veldspar in his dreadnaught becoming a living statue of what could have been..

i'll admit it.. newbs in high sec make tasty treats for a doomsday weapon.. just saying

keep on flyin playa..

Pretty simple really. People using capitals were making bazillion isk per second, while the poor nullsec alliances had to scrape by on billions of isk per day. So they demanded what they always demand of CCP: Nerf high-sec.

Instead of Nerfing High Sec, why not Buff Null? Idk how much money making has changed in the years since, but the idea of taking something away from one group becuz another is pissed about it, rather than making the two comparable, or more balanced I should say, seems a bit pre-school.

I literally teabagged CCP in mine. This lead to them raging.....big red button.....delete boot.ini.....no more caps in highsec.

Or at least that's how I remember it. I dunno about you guys but I can still use CAPS in highsec just fine.

Back in the day you could build capitals in highsec because of "coding issues." So many different types of capitals were built, the problem started when the capitals could tank concord, generally you could do it with logi's because the aggro didn't expand past the initial person. Which normally ended with the server crashing.

They ended up buffing concord and doing lock timing tweeks.

I don't exactly remember when they changed their minds about capitals in highsec, but I do remember people hiding the fact they had them. I believe there was some sort of hunt for who used them and where. CCP was "nice" enough to move the capitals free of charge to the nearest lowsec system.

Then they started getting pretty mad at the people selling them and made the sales banned on the forums. I really don't know where they as for rules today. But I know Chribba was given special permission to use his titan as a Veldatar in highsec.

The general rule that's been around for awhile is if you have one in highsec it cannot be used in any fashion that can affect anyone's gameplay in any way.

Nullsec has been buffed over, and over, and over, and over. So much so that they basically **** isk at every corner with almost no risk of loss. This is how you have nullsec power blocks fielding 30-40 titans + thousands of capitals in single fights. They make more isk than Jesus makes wine.

Well then, from the sounds of things CCP should be able to learn from their past errors, and figure out something that works for caps in high sec. I'd say if anything it should only be Carriers, due to PvE applications, and Indy, not Dreads or supers... But **** idk.

Sounds like Null needs to be Nerfed...

Now let the ragers converge...
