System upgrade - cloak jammer

Who is tired of SB's and cloaky camping a system for a week with absolutely no way of tracking them down?

There should be a system upgrade similar to the cyno jammer that will not allow cloaks to operate if placed in the system. This will be a strategic upgrade but it should be an option. Also could we introduce an expendable charge deployed from a bomb bay or something of the nature that would decloak any ships in a given area or system wide? I can see this being used on gate camps to decloak that annoying scout. Sure it costs money, but it will make the SB pilot rethink his/her tactics at a gate scouting.

must be a SB pilot lol

d-scan won't detect cloaked ships, nor will system scanner w/ probes. Should be an option to counter anything.... with the right amount of skills and isk.

nah not an SB pilot, I have just been trolling forum posts with starcraft-related replies since someone mentioned we should bring terran into the game today

While I am all in favor for a way to make hunting cloakies more enjoyable. Having a system that completely prevents cloaking alltogether is not the right way to go imo. Players should be able to cloak anywhere they want.

The ships hung in the sky in much the same way that bricks don't.

detection is probably the better way to go here... perhaps an upgrade to system scanner that will locate stealth items? but let them remain cloaked? I am actually liking the idea of stealth scan probes or a expendable deployed charge from a ship that will detect cloaked ships in a given area. Would make it interesting in combat to drop a charge and see 5-10 SB's around you and begin to decloak them. May not even have to decloak but just detect them and put a unique symbol for the overview to show it is a cloaked item.

Just saying that there should be a better way to counter cloaks

:( now I have to reset the lightbulb on the head.... so much for that great idea lol

I'd like to see a deployable charge (bomb?) that will detect stuff at gates too... won't decloak so you can't target them, but it will show an outline of the ship so you can close to 2k to decloak. Active pilot could easily warp away and remain cloaked and come back to said location for them to drop another charge.


makes it interesting to be a SB pilot at gate camps for both sides.
