Gate smart bombing

A - a fleet of your own smartbombing Battleships. As soon as you see the enemy ships on warp-in start spamming those F-keys.

B - 1 sensor boosted heavy dictor = infinate scram point at 20k (been away long time -- not sure if HeavyDic's can fit multiple infinipoints). Well beyond smarty range. If they're not backing up their smarties with guns they're dumbies. Once pointed they're easy pickings for anything that can hit from outside 6km which is... well... pretty much any and everything.

Just play it cagey and point the last ship on the daisy chain. the rest will run rather than attempt to keep it alive. Have a second infinipoint ready to spot the pod and *pop*.

Figure - two to tackle/gank per target at the gate.

Post in various public channels, free smart bombing battleships for hunt (post location)!!! That smart bombing pilot won't be there for too long.

Infinitpoint disruptor* (not a scram) is about 36km on a hictor 5 pilot with t2 disruptor, and yes, multiple can be fit =)

Why would the smartbomber decloak with a HIC on grid/scan/nearby

Lowsec gatecamping in smartbombing ships works like this:

Your sb ship is cloaked on the outgate, in line with the selected ingate, where your cloaky scout sits. Once a target in pod/shuttle/low HP frig warps to the outgate, the sb ship decloaks and engages smartbombs. After target is dead, it cloaks/warps away, order depending on the ship type he uses.

Assuming he also eyes on the other side of the outgate, catching one of these is actually fairly difficult.

Well cause it's not very balanced that 1 pilot can well ... be unaffected by 1 other pilot or 2 probably allot more as well.

The smartbombs or gatecamping isn't the issue. It's that warp core stabs don't affect smartbombs in any way really.

Smarty BS have no tank. If they aggress you in a ship that can't be 1-shot... bump them until the guns finish them.

You know, if he is sitting on the gate with smartbombs running, he has aggression and cannot jump until he turns them off. So warp in at 20 with bombers or anything else that applies well and blap him.

How hard is it?

Also, smartbombing gatecampers are gei. Plz, get a life.

Take a HIC with web, scram, infini-point and scan probes (or covops alt). Warp to zero to prevent cloaking, then once he's not going anywhere bring in some DPS.

Try a Heavy Interdictor you will also need a few dps ships. If you are worried about the smartbombs fit the dps ships as snipers and warp in at range. Using the HIC as heavy tackle.

I agree with you, smartbombs are unbalanced. Here is a link to a decent balance proposal in the FI&D section. With the T1 and T2 Tiercide, most, if not all ships, have gotten increased HP also. Next to that, no uniform ranges across the differant damage types, exept on T2, do makes Pulse Weapons V worth it ;)

I would disagree a bit. In blobs, its does requirs baiting, coordinating and lots of organisation with a lillte bit of luck! Solo it requirs an insane amount of skill and tricks to catch the normal fitted frigs! (some rl ductape, a mili sec cloak ect ect)

As with the new warp speed changes and the T1 and T2 shiptiercide, cycling the smartbombs doesnt kill the firgats anymore (pods yes, untanked firgs maybe just, everything fitted and more than 1200 (4sb) hp before resist > you wont kill).
So basicly the only moment you will be able to apply damage anymore is that 1 second timeframe window just before a ship lands on a gate. (You cant activate in range of a gate and when a ship is on gate, hes out of smartbomb range)

If relativity equals time plus momentum, what equals relativity, if the momentum is minus to the time?
