Does Expanded Cargo Hold affect Primae's planetary commodities capacity as well as its regular capacity, or just the latter?

Expanded cargo holds have no effect on any of the specialized bays. Same thing for other ships like the Epithal, Miasmos, Kyros, etc.

Edit: The Primae is mostly a collectors item. With only 1000 m3 planetary commodities bay, it is far less effective than an Epithal at hauling PI goods. Notice also that the Epithal's bay capacity can be further increased by levelling the Gallente Industrial skill.

The Epithal is the ship for PI. The only times you would want to use another ship would be a) when you are placing command centers (the PI hold doesn't hold those) or b) if you are working in low/null and want to be on the safe side with a transport ship.

With Powergrid IV you can also fit a 10MN MWD and Improved Cloaking Device II to the Epithal, allowing you to make use of the MWD+Cloak trick to get past gatecamps.

But to answer your first question (again), all cargo mods affect the primary "general" cargo portion of the ship. The specialized holds can only be increased through skills.

Cargohold modules only work on normal cargoholds, they never affect specialized cargoholds / fleet hangars or what so ever.

Also, keep in mind that the Primae is kind of useless now a days after the ship overhaul and the changes to the Epithal by CCP.

Originally it was given out to the playerbase when P.I. was just added as a try to kick start people into P.I.
Now we have the Epithal who together with any normal Industrial ship (for deploying the command centers) are just better then the Primae.

What a waste of a unique design. I guess one would just have to settle for the Noctis. I here its the first and last word in salvage.

The Primae is a hilariously stupid ship. If you undock one, someone may suicide gank you on principle.

Ok, thx to all of the above because I thought I was missing something when I found 'the PI ship' that is the Primae, It made no sense to own one and the bonus didn't match the title. As someone who spends a lot of time in a Noctis, the Primae strikes me as being rather a waste of a good space frame.

The Pro Synergy Pilot is not just a fighting man, he is a salvage expert. If it is lost, in the blackness of space, he will find it. If it has been destroyed, he will loot and salvage it. If it is in his way, he will move it. If he is lucky he will be podded 20 jumps from home, for this is the closest he come to being hero.

Oh this is good to know. I also noticed some ships with specialized bays get increases based on the ship level, and some don't. I.e. a Retriever versus a Venture. One of the reasons I went with Gallente for industrial ships is because I liked the variety of transports they have, even if they aren't expandable. I wonder what the rationality behind not being able to expand them was? Maybe it will be something we can look forward to in the future.

The primae was a gift ship with a unique role rebalancing changed that but fun fact it was the original hull of the Noctis. And while the should rebalace ships why if few people have them.

It was still crap when it first came out to complement the new pi industry expansion. Nobody liked it then, rebalancing made it even worse by comparison.

I agree it was not as cool as other gift ships but it was a unique and useable free ship. So over all it was an ok ship at the time not as bad as the one they gave us with incursions. Point was gift ships don't get rebalanced. And thanks Tau.

I would argue a DST is preferred for moving high value PI.
