pyroxeres mining

Hi,

From the description of pyroxeres ore:
Pyroxeres is an interesting ore type, as it is very plain in most respects except one - deep core reprocessing yields a little bit of nocxium, increasing its value considerably. It also has a large portion of tritanium and some pyerite and mexallon.

According to the above, it should only be possible to extract noxcium when mining with a deep core miner. In practice, I observed that it made no difference when reprocessing pyroxeres that has been extracted with 1: modulated strip miner II and 2: modulated deep core strip miner II. - The amount of noxcium obtained is the same in both cases.

Could somebody please provide some more detail on this? Is the description simply very misleading or is there something I am missing.

Thanks in advance.

Yes.

A permit.

I find your lack of one disturbing.

Is there such a thing as "deep core reprocessing" ?

I think you should get yourself familiar with the "gameplay and story segregation" aspect of this game. Depite CCP's attempts to mix the lore with actual gameplay, it sometimes doesn't work. Lore is lore, and Pyroxeres is a great highsec ore but the mechanics behind mining just don't work like that.

You can increase your wield with your choice of Mining Laser, but beyond that, ore is ore no matter how you mine it. The outpot is always determined by your skills at reprocessing.

No, you only get one yield from the ore. Don't ever rely on the descriptions, they are horribly written and in this case misleading.

Nope.

My own theory is that it's just a way to explain in lore why there isn't really that much nocxium in pyroxeres - it's really hard to get it out of the ore.

Just reprocess it normally and enjoy your nocxium.

They made step one, you have description, and that is what you can get right now. CCP is just lazy in introducing the actual feature.

They changed the wording to paper over a crack in an old, long abandoned and discarded feature.

Deepcore Reprocessing is unlikely to ever be a thing.

No, but there is some deep and meaningful reading when it comes to The Halaima Code of Conduct.

If you live in hi sec., it's required reading.

I also don't see a mining permit, James 315 requires this if you live in his space.

Mine smart. Mine safe. Purchase your mining permit today...... www.minerbumping.com

Unless they add a Mineral Crush mini game that needs to you get a certain amount of big number matches to enter deep core reprocessing mode for those delicious rare mineral matches.

Just because the Revelation Chribba Edition uses only tritanium in its construction, doesn't mean that all other minerals are a lie.

Unless you are also mining and reprocessing cake.

It's so refreshing to see a post that actually has to do with the game.
Seems this forum is filling with posts having to do with:
"Me playing this game."

To all those authors:
It's cute that you're playing this game.

It's all rubbish... but only because it's "mining" we're talking about.

Which is ironic, because if most other activities in EVE were anywhere as "effortless" as mining.... Roll

Well I'm still trying to figure out if that means anything or is just an ambient outburst of random descent ?
