Yup we'll update the thread afterwards, and there will be ingame news reports about the winners of the commissions.

We're going to save the full info for Saturday, but I will reveal that between the four factions, the total collection was:
  • 556,166 Neural Network Analyzers
  • 610,213 Sleeper Data Libraries

That's 2,997,018 total points, or the equivalent of 149,850,900,000 ISK at NPC buy order price.

Huge congrats to everyone who participated, including all the people who donated to Guillome Renard's excellent 3rd party campaign. I think you will be happy with where this story is leading.

out of personal curiosity I crunched some numbers

players used 187,3 plex worth of isk, assuming one plex is 800mil with current prices.

with one plex being 19,99 USD, that would amount to 3744 USD worth of ingame assets donated to the cause.

Well, I didn't win the Gallente commission, but I'm happy that my contribution was almost 20% of the Gallente total.

Congratulations to all that won a commission... your commitment is breathtaking!

There seems to be a mistake in the presentation. I've donated for Gallente and Lotrec Emetin donated for Minmatar Blink

Minmatar: Lotrec Emetin

Caldari: TorDog

Gallente: Shipstorm

I'll let Fozzie fill in any further details but wanted to reassure you.

I think it would be good of Guillome Renard do the pirate thing (in roleplay terms) and donate his items to some of the New Eden's outlaw faction so that we can have a pirate Tactical Destroyer (and thus write his name in the EVE history). Big smile How cool would it be i there was an Angel Cartel Tactical Destroyer - their pride and joy?

Final results & top donators:

- Independents lead by Guillome Renard - 287.232 Research - 5th place

- Gallente Federation Navy - 435.734 Research - 4th place
Top donator & Title granted : Honorary Federal Harbormaster Shipstorm

- Caldari State Navy - 767.014 Research - 3rd place
Top donator & Title granted: Honorary Brigadier of Engineers TorDog

- Minmatar Republic Fleet - 857.310 Research - 2nd place
Top donator & Title granted: Honorary Fleet Architect Lotrec Emetin

- Amarr Imperial Navy - 936.960 Research - 1st place
Top donator & Title granted: Honorary Fabricator General Ascentior

Note, the name of the top donators for Minmatar & Gallente in the Vegas stream got switched, in case someone remarks I made an error.

Also, turns out we were racing to see who gets to release their tech 3 destroyers first! Amarr Victor indeed!

Made a publication about the research race & all we know about tech 3 destroyers so far: 'The result of the YC116 Sleeper data research race'

Or... there could be a contest open for players. The contest would begin once the empire T3 dessies were known and it could have two categories. One category could be for the appearance of the ship. Give it player touch that the art department could build on (assuming players did manage to make something that could make art department salivate). Second category would be for the ship's particulars. Sure, CCP would have final say on the numbers, but idea here is to get the ship have feeling different from the empire versions, be balanced with them and be useful.

Could we get more numbers? Maybe dev-blog and/or news article?

It would be good to know few top donors - I would like to know how well (on bad) I donated comparing to others.

Smile, always! ;)

Yes, that would be interesting too. After the design phase is finished, capsuleers should fund the ship manufacturing and determine who will build the ship - and that may be some faction or even some player alliance. Would be something really new for history.

Still waiting for The Scope to publish the in character lore as a news item promulgating rapid amarrian advances in the creation of groundbreaking technology while their comrades-in-faction-war-arms, the Caldari State, could not accrue enough founding of it's membership corps and thusly falling short on acquiring enough tech from the only other faction in New Eden more pure capitalism driven than themselves.

Gonna be a bit more annoying here.

Post the goddamn (or god blessed - amarr won after all didn't it?) results as "The Scope" newspost allready. CCP asked us how to make better ingame events, step one
FOLLOW THROUGH WITH IT.
We don't need design details or stuff - but if you wuld at least psot the totals of acquired data and that, as well as leaked materials from across the cluster hints at a new type of destroyer being developed.

Or do I have to formulate the entire thing out on my own word by word?

While you wait on the offical article, you can check out the publication I wrote on it ( 'The result of the YC116 Sleeper data research race') So at least you don't have to write one out yourself. It's from an ingame view, so it's a nice alternative to the official sources.

From earlier chats/posts with CCP devs it does seem that live events organizers (and ingame article writings?) are a very small team, who have to do alot of it during their spare time, so patience is required.

PS I do agree that publishing the ingame offical news article on the sleeper research race result is getting a bit overdue.
