Hello,

I recently built a Character just to get a feel for the game. I chose Caldari as my character lineage, but do people enjoy a good all round experience with them or would I fair better with another race?

I want to vary my gameplay with PvE and PvP, with plans to go from there.

Any advice?

It may seem odd;

but your race really means nothing aside from your character looks.

Any of the starting skills you get with any race can be learned in a few hours, so you can start as caldari and train the same minnie starting skills right off the bat with nothing really lost.

That said, caldari ships can be fun to fly and many swear by them for PVE content.

PvP wise they are everywhere too.

The only racial distinct thing in the game atm is the amar hoods on the avatars I think and that doesn't effect gameplay outside of your own preferences.

Greetings my New Eden friend,

Due to some changes in character attributes and learning processes in the past, the race of your character does not affect your ability to train for ships of different races.

It use to be that your race, bloodline, lineage, and a group of skills call learning would increase or affect the attributes that that character had. This is no longer the case. Feel free to pick whatever race you wish for roleplaying's sake.

As regards to your question on how to pursue you PVE / PVP ambitions., i would train into amarr or minmatar.

Also focus on a certain group for a while. Its easy to get discouraged when you're trying to cross train races too early in your eve career.

If you have any more questions i'd be glad to answer them.

Hey

I fly Caldari/Gallente and it works resonably well.

Caldari is quite possibly the best for PVE and for PVP they have the best ECM, great for small gangs/small fleet but not so good for solo.

If you want solo PVP so for Minny, large 0.0 fleet Amarr seem to be FOTM atm and small gang all the races provide useful for any fleet.
