Custom hangars and inside our ships!

I think it'll be great if CCP makes real use of their in-game character models and allow players to have custom hangars/docks/cabins (whatever you want to call it) as well as design the insides of the ships; full staffed by NPCs and all that jazz. It doesn't even have to have any real-game application (in fact it would be better if it doesn't) but significantly improves immersion (never underestimate the value of ship-porn), just make it so you can invite friends into your ships/cabins/hangars to explore.

The motive for CCP to make this? Well beyond player satisfaction and all the income that comes with that, there's endless possibilities for Nex Store implementation. Upgrade/customise NPC crew uniforms, upgrade the insides of ships (carpet/wooden furnishings/better crew beds/holographic displays/better wire insulation for Minmatar rust-ships etc etc) and adding numerous decor. It'll be fantabulous!

You are in your CAPSULE in your ship. You don't wander around or go to a bridge, you are in your god damn CAPSULE, monitoring and controlling your vessel. That is why you are called CAPSULEER! Roll

My ridicule, heavy criticism and general pale outlook about your or CCP's ideas is nothing but an encouragement to prove me wrong. Give it a try.

And no capsule also means no immortality, but i'm not sure about that. The Broker jumped into a pool of hot slag and still was "respawning".

Your ship would be docked smarty pants. Wandering around inside your ship while you're undocked may as well be afk with your computer monitor off. This would be a purely cosmetic thing. Also according to lore your ship wouldn't function unless you're in your capsule while it is undocked, but you're clearly not chained to your capsule since you can already wander around your cabin.

This is a massive amount of developer resources that could go to ship remodeling. Personally I would rather see them finish updating all the old ship models, giving all the T2 ships properly unique models and re-designing the god-awful ones (Celestis, anyone?) than to spend the colossal amount of time and money it would take to give interior layouts to every ship class in the freaking game. Especially capitals. Do you even know how big capitals are? Multiply that by all the decks they have. May Bob have mercy on us all.

Do you want to live with a 5 minute timer when you want to undock if this were implemented? I mean, you can't be instantly transfered from the starboard cafeteria or the rear engine halls to your capsule. You would have to walk to the capsule enclosure, or leave your ship, shuttle to your CQ and then enter the ship. Not to mention the timer you would need to kick people (in case you invited friends, or if someone wants to mess with you) out of your ship when you want to launch (just imagine if your request to leave the ship in order to launch is rejected by an enemy on your ship. Terrible thoughts. Blink

Instead of useless ship interiors, CCP, if at all, should concentrate on WIS. That's more meaningful and by comparison, easier to achieve, and it actua

By the same logic this forum is mostly useless until every bug, ship and module balance and revamp and every other issue this game has is fixed. I never suggested that this be the highest priority or the next patch announcement, it's a suggestion of how Eve may evolve using base resources that CCP already has.

Given that there's not delay in my ship docking and my character getting out of their pod and entering the captain's quarters, I see no reason to suddenly get hyper 1:1 time ratio immersive with this suggestion either.

Then stop speaking of more immersion and just call it by the name: I want more eye-candy without any further meaning or purpose.

This is an internet spaceship game of comprised of pixels and numbers. Your point is moot. Meaning and purpose is whatever people make of them in this game. Also I called it shipporn in my OP so I have no idea what illusions you think I'm under. It's just a suggestion that some players may want which IMO also has potential of generating revenue for CCP in the process.

Hmmm, Malfoy, you seem to have gotten out of the wrong fireplace. The one you want is ------------> there.

And for the record, this would be an absolutely terrible (not to mention useless and unsustainable) use of developer resources.

oh come now at least point him to a game that has a chance of being released

no you will still be transferred to another clone upon death the capsule just helps to prevent data lose (similar to turning off the power when saving vs saving then turning off the power). however if you are not in your capsule your ship will get 0 bonuses from skills.
