The new cloaking animation is incredible!!!!!! Not only is it a visual feast for the eyes, the lengthy animation makes it so that it takes about a minimum of 6 seconds to cloak back up after decloaking!!!!! Should be plenty of time for the camps to boost their killmails, especially if they have a infinite point. AWESOME!!!!!!

The animation never was attached to actual visibility.

If that changed, they'll fix it.

You are overlooking something here. The current cloaking animation is already lengthy, yet it didn't see an increase of cloakers getting killed. This is due to the reason that the cloaking animation is independent from cloak operation, meaning the moment you activate the cloak, it's active, the animation is just a gimmick.

The gimmick has gotten prettier though, I like that ;)

The only difference I can see it making is that his one is slightly move visible, so in the few seconds that you're cloaking up, they can see more or less which way you are heading before you completely vanish, thus having a slightly better chance at finding you before you're out of their reach.

Then again, I have no experience at gatecamps except for busting through them with my trusty blockade runner, so I have no idea how my cloaking up looks like from a spectator's view.

Did you know you can activate your cloak the moment after you hit warp, even if the decloak animation is still going?
