Hi Guys,

I could use some advice how to kill a nano Drake in a "101".

What do I know:

Drake: (last 3 killmails with him)
Small Energy Neutralizer II
7x Heavy Missile Launcher II

Warp Disruptor II
2x X5 Prototype Engine Enervator
Y-T8 Overcharged Hydrocarbon Microwarpdrive 1
Invulnerability Field II 1
Large Shield Extender II 1

Ballistic Control System II 1
Nanofiber Internal Structure II 1
Nanofiber Internal Structure II 1
Ballistic Control System II

Medium Anti-EM Screen Reinforcer I
2x Medium Core Defence Field Extender I

Booster Loki alt.
Low-sec.
I guess he uses a slave implant set.
His point was about 36k long and he was able to fly more than 2.500 m/s
______________
I can fly:
Gallente BS IV. inkl. Medium Hybrid Guns at T2, Large only Meta.
Minmatar BS IV. inkl. T2 Artis.
any good Idea how to get him?
Thx in advance

Well, you're going to have to land a scram on him, otherwise he'll just kite or bail, especially if he's got T3 links.

If you can land a scram on him, an active-tanked Cyclone or Myrmidon should do the trick.

You're going to want any shield tanked brawler ship with a mwd and scram and use a sling-shot trick.

Basically fly away from the drake whilst using your mwd then at the end of your mwd cycle turn around then overload and turn back on your mwd and fly straight towards them. Usually their ship won't respond in time if they are using keep at range or orbit and you will get in range to use your scram and shut off their mwd. Just make sure you overload your scrambler.

He should have huge em and thermal holes in his tank.

I recommend using another drake to kill him. Missile will deliver reliable damage leaving you only needing to worry about catching him - not catch + track + prey for decent hits.
His fit is crap for fighting another Drake so it should die easily.

Fit HAMS and Warp Stabs.
If you get close - he dies - if not, at least you can leave the fight.

The warp stab targeting range penalty doesn't matter with HAMS.

Good Luck - Hope you have success.

Poor dps and a small tank.
With Scourge Furies he'd manage just under 500 dps.

Theoretically, a nanocane could do the trick, as it flies 200m/s faster than him and has 200 more dps.
In addition, with him firing scourges you'll have 52k ehp. With you firing phased plasma at him, he'll have 44k ehp.

Unfortunately, because of the T3 booster the Drake will have 16km webs.

I'd look at a nano Harby with Scorch or a HAM Drake.

If you have buddies, point him with a nano-cane, then bring in a Maelstrom with ACs and phased plasma.

If you want to push him off grid, get a Dominix, slap Garde IIs on it, and fit a single-rep setup with med cap boosters and dual 425mm ACs. With a kinetic hardener, you should be able to tank him comfortably and push him away.

If you're feeling hilarious, get a Tempest and fit 2 nanos to it. You'll fly just as fast as him and get 1050 dps. Fit 800mm ACs, 2 torps, Hammerheads, 2 gyros and a TE. At 16km, you'll get about 950dps.

It's simple to scare him, but hard to kill him.

Nanocane will lose to nanodrake. Get a booster alt, fit a nanodrake of your own with more tank instead of webs, kill him easily.

Alternatively, Rapier+anything or nanoed Tengu (can go just as fast even without booster alt, will easily out-tank and out dps.) A vanilla drake will always be able to force a nanodrake off the field but will never kill it.

Your best bet with plain t1 is an active cyclone and slingshot him as per above, but be aware that this will very very rarely work if they are halfway competent.

EDIT: Tempest with double heavy nuets can work as well, you only have to slingshot within 28k to alpha his cap pretty well.

There was a nano-drake fella that lived in the BWF area that sat there with a cloaky ferox booster (I am pretty sure this was before T3s). A billion safes around every degree of the gate, at all sorts of ranges. He destroyed so many ships there. The same people would go after him again and again - and he would kill them again and again. I used to sit there in an arazu and try to get lucky and motor to one of his safes to scram him. As I was slowboating around, he just killed endless amounts of people. It was quite impressive, actually.

As someone said, if they know what they are doing (and this guy did), they are very hard to catch.

Probe down his link alt and kill it?

It's the more expensive ship, and it has no tank, no weapons, and no pilot.

I know sometimes it's difficult to realize just how much you spend on incidental things each month or year, but seriously, EVE is very cheap entertainment compared to most things... If you are a smoker, smoke one less pack a week and pay for EVE, with money left over to pick up a cheap bundle of flowers for the EVE widow upstairs.

Don't let him catch you at a belt or planet - make him fight you at a station or a gate that way you can dock or jump. Don't agress him until your scrambler is turned on.

After that it's easy street.

Holy Satanic Christ! This is a Goddamn Signature!

Well, im no expert on gatecamping, but at least for the guy i am talking about, he has most of these issues solved.

He only fought on gates or stations - he just lured people off. Then dual web death. If they didnt take the bait, he left.

Regarding his alt - he used a on-grid cloaky ferox. Uncloak for fight, align, warp off if attacked. Even if you catch it - its just a ferox - cheap insurable BC.

Not to say we never caught the guy - we did. But it took a lot of folk with a planned effort. If its just one or two people, no matter the fit, the best you can hope for is to chase him off.

But now i have a question, if someone is chasing you (approach) and then lose lock, they either keep going the way they were going, or do they stop? It just happened to me the other night, but i honestly cant recall...

Either way, an unexpected ecm/damp attack to cause him to lose lock while chasing you might make catching him easier...

Armor Stabber Fleet Issue with a Kinetic Hardener, Scram, Web, Dual Prop. And you'll probably need Snakes of your own or at least some Skirmish links.

There is a nano drake gang that hangs out in the last 2 places I have lived. 3-4 nano drakes 1 ares, 1 sabre and a loki booster. They knew what they were doing and are very good at their fleet comp. We got 6 alpha maels arazu falcon and a loki with fed navy webs and a 36 km point. Once the drakes were tackled they were jammed and alpha'd by the maels. It was quite fun

He probably is a good pilot if he has the snakes, and booster running so you most likely will not be able to kill him.

You can drive him off the field by simply fitting any type of long range ship. That is the key with nanos, long range dps. You wont be able to scram him or point him so dont bother just dont engage him if hes on the field and you're in the wrong ship.

The only way you'd ever catch him is if someone has a long point like an arazu. Otherwise he'll just out run you and warp away if you are wiinning.

Answer: blue ball him
