Do all hybrid turrets sound like toy pellet guns?

Roll Please ignore this thead. A particular fellow below enlightened me into realising I had 'Quieter Turret Sounds' on. I have now turned it off, and I am pleasantly satisfied with the turret sound!

This.

But even so, be grateful there's any sound. Space shouldn't have sound at all.

You can change the sound in the settings to make it louder and a bit more powerful.

Still a ****** sound byte though.

My 250mm Prototype Gauss Guns do not sound intimidating in the least, when they are fired. They sound like BB guns, or very light pellet guns. Am I the only one that thinks this? Do all hybrid turrets sound like this or are they gonna give more of a BOOM when i advance to stronger ones?

Don't get me wrong, I love this game, I'm just a bit embarrassed when I activate my turrets ;)

Be thankful that there is actually sound in space.

Also an efficient railgun (in space) should not create a large noise beyond that of the projectile moving against air.

Ah thanks, I didn't realise I had 'Quieter Turret Sounds' ticked. I'll give these a try :)

That's fair enough, they do sound significantly better now i've switched of quiet turrets.

on more serious note : i agree that all hybrids sounds really annoying. I like the sound of my 1400mm thats something nice.

But i usually got sound off for past few years. Watching MASH series or listening to some music.

There should be a constant low buzz of the magnatrons charging and discharging.

In space you wouldn't hear your guns fire... Turn off sound for maximum immersion.

The whirring of your CPU fan you can pretend is some sort of life support noise, and your loud neighbors are the crew.

Eve's sound effects are pretty terrible, I'd imagine its on the list for replacement eventually. While space does not have sound, firing and getting hit, would cause sound within your own ship. It would be interesting to experiment with that idea to see if one could make an appealing soundscape for eve in that way. For example, getting hit with lasers would sound differently than getting hit by a missile, so one could potentially use that information to make judgement's on incoming damage types, etc.

Can you hear that? It's the sound of me attacking you with a laser.......
