A lot of players and personally i'm are hating "new and wonderful" changes in each patch . So an idea - mb after each new patch pilots could reapply skillpoints, wasted on l5 skills ? a lot of cap pilots with lvl5 jump drive calibration and many other skills wasted will find this solution appropriate. why should we suffer from ccp "great ideas" ?

Pretty much this.

JDC 5 isn't wasted.

I totally agree.

You could just keep podding yourself until the skills are gone and start training up from your clean slate again.

That's a pretty good idea.

I've always thought you should have respecs, like any other game. Game mechanics change, new equipment, play style. Many start as an industrial toon, let them go to pvp if they want.

Yea, you can buy a character, not something i'd do. You lose the feeling of your toon growing up, and where it's been and done, rep with different factions, etc.

Would hardly be any different than buying / selling toons, i really don't see much difference.

I believe it's just one more way they stifle their game. Not my paycheck though.

if i took the SP i wasted in mining skills and re-applied it i could be sitting in a titan in 3 days roughly.

Doing something like this also makes no sense lore wise, as you learned a specific set of skills to do a specific job flying a mining barge and flying an ishtar are not even relatively close together so skills acquired from said mining barge will probably never carry over to the ishtar save for basic handling skills you would already have

Because you choose to play CCP's game.

If you don't want to "suffer", you can always just leave. It's just a game.

Would only agree with OP partially, as I was just looking at Navigation skills since I was going to go freighter than jump freighter for the trade alt. Probably not at this point, but at least re-look at the multiplier for some of the skills and refunding part of it after reducing it lower....basically you are down grading from a Ferrari for fast speed to get across the map to driving a big ass Hummer with poor gas mileage, the parking brake on, and three flat tires since CCP is now forcing the ships to slow down + the player character acts like a speed bump (fatigue timer) just because they don't like how null sec is and whiney players who don't fly caps don't like getting dropped by capital ships. Bigger gap in that 25% increase in distance skill from 4 to 5 level skill to get to 5 light years than when it would cap out at 15 to get anywhere if you where at 4 compared to 5

CCP created, players utilized what they where given, now nobody likes it now....its not like the game mechanics where being broken, it was risk-adverse players (the whiners) who kept getting stomped by the big guys just because the big guys could use the mechanics more freely. I do remember Hulk pilots whining about getting stomped few years ago, not much was done for them....hardly see hulks anymore as its just easer to replace cheaper retrievers and coveters.

At least give them a partial break, HTFU yourselves and sympathize a little bit...it is hugely game changing thing to just suddenly add speed bump fatigue and cut the distance down available to jump with the only counter benefiting CCP by increasing subs, plexing accounts, and buying new pilots. Old players didn't change anything, its just the whiners couldn't adapt to build their own large fleets to beat down the big guys who where already the leaders of the pack.

In other words, adapt or die...unless you are the one impacted, in which case, adapt or whine.

Why would that apply only to skills affected in changes ?

I want to reapply all my wasted skills that I trained before I knew what I was doing...

Reapplying skillpoints would eliminate the need for alts in a lot of situations.
Who would spend months on a sub to train alts for specialist things when you could just change your main (for less even if it cost a PLEX or two).....doesn't make a lot of financial sense for CCP to do.

That's without the fact it would change wars and intel.....part of the game is learning who can fly what ships against you.
