CCP, when can we expect a little bit more realism from a graphics and enviromental point of view?

Soon.

I guess I should respond more in-depth.

Thr tesselation project is still out there,
but as CCP chose to support rather DirectX than OpenGL,
we're not having it for several years already and have to wait.

Regarding the environment,
there are smaller projects running like the drones who keep moving around in space,
repairing station facilities and such.

Personally, I believe what mostly keeps them from adding actual fidelity to space
is the fact that their particle engine simply is **** rather inefficient in the current environment.

I have to agree with OP, a slight increase in realism would be nice. Here's a simple example.

When you shoot at a ship that's still in shields there would be a graphical deflection, almost like a sphere that illuminates upon missile laser or projectile impact until the ship is out of shields, only then the impact is straight onto the Armor/Hull as it is now.

its something id love to see in EvE. Collision onto shields effect 1st.

That sounds like something that's F&I worthy.
Probably posted already and forgotten by now, but still.

+1

I'm not trolling at all ...
... and thanks for the link, but I'm not sure what you're trying to accomplish with this. :)

I'm not even clicking it. ^_^

Can we start by removing the maximum speed limitation for ships ?

alt-0153 anyways.

I remember shield mods projecting onto a sphere round ship years ago, but think missile impacts hit the hull still.

That's not creating anything here.

And why the leading 0?
Makes no sense.

In metrics where it is expected to have digits numbering 4 or higher, for inventory's sake you put a "0" where no number is.

Thats because in some inventory systems, as an example from something im looking at right now, 934 would be right before 9340 and right after 9339, because it sorts them alphabetically. However that "0" means 0934 is rigth after 0933 and before 0935.

Now, some systems have logic functions or sort numerically, so that 933/934/935 are kept in order within the 3 digit numbers, but those systems can have their own drawbacks.

Either way, thats why, because hes saying there are thousands of alts.

Play Space Engineers.

Learn why a bump at 20m/s in a capital sized ship would be catastrophic.

Look at any trade hub undock.

Be glad collisions are how they are.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?
