Chribba's Modified Strip Miner - Charity Event (idea)

We were just shooting the breeze in the SCC-Lounge, a Trader's Community Chat Channel, about stuff(s) like the Ore Marshall Jacket that just sold to Zahara Cody, who mentioned that he needed it to bling out his Mackinaw Ore Edition setup. Then Zahara said he could really use a Chribba Modified Strip Miner set to round up the bling...

Which occurred to all of us, the Plex for Good event that Chribba ran had special prizes (remember the his and her T-Shirts?), and this could be a perfect item for another fundraiser ... whether they were auctioned off or as a reward to big donators.

You know, a Charity Event. And no, I don't have a charity in mind, but I am sure CCP sponsors several.

What do you think, CCP?

You make one player named mod.. then the precedent has been set, and every yahoo with 15000 bored people sitting in his alliance start petitioning for Mittani named officer mods.




Better to just leave player named mods out of the game.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

Why specifically officer mod? NES store apparel would be better. Wizard hat, for example.

Chribba can get a Revelation ORE Development Edition. Mining capabilities of a T1 barge with three strip miners and a 30k Ore hold. Still tanks like a dread.

I am quite sure there would be only few people disagreeing with giving such a thing out. It'd be like an Oscar for life achievements.

Named mods are given to the special ones.

m0o even got their own system.
Zephyr is the name of the shuttle and the name of the current holder of m0o corp.

Ghost sites are named after specific places players named, in regards to infinite ice and "the clock" iirc.
The crystal ball is a chatroom of a player who is connected to this.

Sneaks in a classic is ... hahahaha google the thread from the old forums and have fun reading. :)

There's a roleplayer that got an item named after her for doing exceptional work in some storyline stuff.

And... others. (:


I would totally be for a Chribba mining laser...
... but when people openly ask about this ...
... they remove CCPs ability to make it happen.

Because wishing ain't happening.


If Chribba wants an item ...
... he has to leave the game first ...
... simply because of people asking for one.

Think of CCP.
You ask for one ... they grant it ... and more people will come and ask.

My personal opinion though....

Hell yeah, +1!

I remember an incident where some scrubs wanted to take sov in the null system the bigger players
granted him ... and some guy posted it in GD ... and HUNDREDS of people gathered up defending it,
shooting TCUs ... eveuni showed up ... NC. ... RvB too I think. lol

To be clear, Chribba didnt ask for the item. The thread arose because were remembering all of his work for "Plex For Good" last year (the fundraiser he ran after the Singapore Tsunami/Earthquake) and we thought it would be a suitable item as a reward for a charity event.

If you recall, CCP had special character apparel that they gave to Chribba to hand out to those that donated, so there is a precedent set for special items.

Anyway, the Charity Event was not an idle part of this thread; I realized the item could draw some heat as too special in it's naming, but also know that time to time there is a real NEED to raise funds for a good cause, Like Singapore last year.

(I have no connection to Chribba, and regardless of his post earlier, he has not endorsed this request - I just respect him and all he has done, and, and, NOTHING says mining like the name "Chribba!")
