This change is absolute trash.

The amount of people who will quit is staggering.

CCP i stress you listen to NULL CSMs. These changes will ruin NULL

Wars will become slow and undesirable. The inability to move ships to fight wars will lower the desire to engage entities. Making the huge power blocks invulnerable. No one with the power to engage and conquer them has the time/desire to take weeks to move enough assets to support the war effort.

If im not mistaken your making changes to add life to the game. In reality you will be doing the exact opposite. Listen to those who actually play the game! You will ruin null sec which is a majority of your player base. Think. Then fire whoever had this idea because he is dangerous to this game.

The only people who will benefit are care bears who want safety from hotdrops.

Null logistics (which are already eye gouging) will become near imposible.

I hope for this games sake this idea gets dumpstered.

The good news is that you can now remove cynojammers from the game. Defense of a null sec home system can now be done via geography and not an impenetrable upgrade.

Maintain the present ranges of caps (DO NOT NERF), and implement the jump fatigue with some sort of cap.

Jump / cloak rest or use the gates.
Unless you have 15 cyno toons at mid points, I see you needing to move some of them around anyways. Good time to rest or use gates.

Also why not have them scout for you piggy back style, That way you always have a cyno toon a few jumps ahead or behind if things get ugly to light a gtfo cyno.

First and foremost, these changes as described will kill BLOPS. Not exactly kill but make it bad enough you can play another game will waiting for cool down. And if you're playing another game why bother with EVE at all ?
There is no massive BLOPS force projection across the universe or massive BLOPS battles so there is really nothing to fix. On the other hand BLOPS is one of the small gang PVP activities in EVE and the proposed changes will break it. Nothing gained, all lost. One less thing for us to enjoy in EVE.

Having that out of the way the economics of the change are fascinating. Jump fuel usage will be greatly reduced so ice will drop and pos fuel / r16 will find a new equilibrium. Suitacasing will be become impossible so large alliances will require active members to keep full compliments of doctrines at multiple locations which will spike mineral usage. Also sporadic massive cap battles will be replaced by gate camp cap slaughters on a smaller scale which will drive up minerals.
The massive jump range nerf will multiply the cyno alts which means more money moving into CCP depleting coffers.

As for game play changes archons and chimeras will be the new drakes and naglfars will be the new nados. Everything goes bigger , the changes to ice mining to kill botting will be moot as mining will shift back to ore and and alliances will mandate jump clone locations making life just a bit more miserable for line members. Smaller alliances will be forever stuck not having the logistical means to move efficiently.

These changes line up nicely to make current large alliances set on their territories, fuelled by bot miners and buffered by smaller alliances that provide content.

At the end of the day I don't see how moving my ratting carrier through gates will make a better EVE experience but I do see how being able to gate jump a ratting Nyx around a constellation makes farmers happier.

You honestly think that you will have the same turnout doing 30 jumps through star gates, rather than 2 Titan jumps? There are so many people who live in nullsec who wait for jabber pings, then warp to a titan and have content provided for them, its sickening. I think eve would be much better if a group of 20-40 guys could take a mediocre system in nullsec, and have constant skirmishes with neighbors. But this would require people to provide their own content, and manually fly their ships.

Shouldn't this dev blog be moved to the bad idea forum?

Well looks like our small alliance will have to move out of null sec. I'm sure that's what the devs are trying to do. The changes will not affect the big alliances. As they have the number of people to be able to hand off ships or materials to the next character in the cyno chain.. move stuff almost normally.. except they will have to take out us small alliances so they can make the next jump without having a hostile in system..

Logistics will no longer be possible for small null sec alliances.


LEAVE LOGISTICS ALONE.

Little guys will no longer be able to defend against bigger alliances with cyno jammers.. they will be using a massive cap fleet using gates.

It appears to me.. SOMEONE NEEDS TO CHECK who in CCP is living in low sec making capitals? Making changes to benefit themselves?

Fuel block prices go sky high.. our region of crappy space the moon goo is very marginal value wise.. the value of the moon goo will go sky high.. to get it to market.. all tech 2 ships will be going sky high..

This will force small alliances to join larger alliances to be able to centralize. There will only be large alliances in null sec.

This is a game not a job.. it already is a pain to move stuff out of null sec. Why make it a full time job? That's not fun. This is stupid.

+1 this, atleast partially....these changes will badly hurt smaller/newer groups that have 1-2 jfs and few carriers.

I approve totaly this modification of player projection.

A long time ago, Eve existed without capital and jump bridge at all, and 0.0 wars were bloodly and fun. I remember the time we had to escort 3 or 4 freighters during 20 jumps to secure our logistical routes. It was a lot of fights, small scale fights, and fun fights.

If powerblocs can't project their armada all around the null sec in 3 minutes, they will have to choose which regions they want to defend.
Strategy and geography will again become important ! And it's fundamental to provide a strategical side to this game.

Today, if you have the biggest, ,you win. Tomorrow, to win, you will have to place your armada in the right place at the right time. You will have to make choice.

Thanks CCP to bring Eve back !
