Nah, I don't think it's the mining though, he just needs to make some friends. They say dogs make great friends... but I don't really believe that. How many of your friends have you neutered?

No.

In fact, such a comment is so absurd, it must be a troll...

Three pages, not bad.

Hi ... assuming this post wasn't a troll ... which seems all too likely.

There are lots of things to do in EVE. Lots of solo things and lots of group things. If you are lonely then join an active corporation or alliance that has a teamspeak/ventrilo/mumble server for voice chat.

You can find corporations that focus on PVE, PVP, Wormholes, Industry ... and any other combination.

I've always found mining to be boring for example :) ... others seem to love it. Some folks can't stand mission running. Wormhole life offers access to a variety of content all at once. Good group activities include fleets for PVP roams, defence fleets against wardecs, fleets for PVE content ... missions or boosted mining fleets.

The biggest issue is that if you want group activities, you need to go looking for them since they won't usually just happen.

---

By the way ... renting T1 frigates to newbies is a business model doomed to failure since after running the tutorial missions or running missions/mining for a week they should be able to buy whatever T1 frigates they like. It doesn't really offer any value but you charge fees for it ... so taking advantage of real new players who might think it is worthwhile is a scam of sorts even if you are offering some value in exchange for isk. Also, as far as I know the collateral is lost as soon as someone opens a courier contract container/package. So as soon as someone takes out their rental ship to use it ... they lose the collateral as well ... which you have probably set at the value of the ship ... so your rental "deal" is probably charging folks 50k isk over the cost of the frigate to "rent" which is certainly a scam.

I too get that empty feeling when playing Eve Online.

I was promised walking in stations.... I got flaming statues.

Eve is about Capital ships, WiS, Boobs, PI and Isk!

PvE in EVE is a farm system. That includes mining. If you have a solitary feeling while doing it, you are doing it right.

Once you feel you have enough in the bank to graduate out of that, go find out how intrusive EVE can be. The solitude won't seem all bad at that point.

Move to low sec. Join a corp that lives there. Liquidate all high sec assets.

I station spun for 2 years and did a L4 grind to make some isk and get jump clones without using a service...I was so bored. After I moved to low sec I am having a ton of fun and excited about logging in.

Most corps have free freight services so you can just plant an alt in Jita and sell all the loot you earn.

The solution to your problem is simple. Join a wormhole corporation

I have one in particular in mind

Eve is a cold dark space sim where it is truly everyone vs. everyone.

You have to create your own content. Run missions with the goal of getting to lvl IVs.

or

My advice, find a ~30-50 man corp that does what you are leaning towards wanting to do, be it mining, missions, wormholes or just straight up ISK sucking pvp. You will soon find that you are logging in more to chat with friends than to actually accomplish something, but when you and your friends have goals, it is even better.

I felt like you for the first 3 years of the game until I found a great group of players, experienced and noob. I still chat with many of them on a daily basis even though we have all gone in many different directions corp/activity wise. tbh I'd consider them to be among my best friends, and I've never personally met any of them. They range from east coast US to the Netherlands and other areas of Europe.

This game will crush your soul over time if you don't actively work towards something with like-minded players. FW is a great way to go as well.
