New Cloaking Effect - Such stealth!

Hello, all!
The last few weeks were a maelstrom of homework, school projects and tests. I have finally found some time to check out how things are going in this game.
I see that Oceanus is coming out soon. The new feature that really caught my attention is the new cloaking effect. Although looking extremely cool, it has horrible stealth. It's so bad at hiding your ship that it would be much better to fit a giant cardboard box on your ride. It reflects light in such an obvious manner, even a six year-old child would be able to spot, bump and decloak you. So, now the question is, how can somebody have the element of surprise when you're using a state-of-the-art stealth machine that would make Solid Snake puke?

thats not how it works. You don't even show up in other clients as a ship model when cloaked. Its just eye-candy for your client.

Also, realistically, You're not going to see ships accurately enough for targeting with the naked eye anyway. In universe, it doesn't matter if they can't see you if they can't target you because you don't show up on any sensors.

For me the cloaking and decloaking animations look pretty good but the cloaked ship looks meh.

How did he make it through the tutorials??

The new Cloak ability looks so amazing, so much so... I truly think all ships should get another Highslot just for a Cloak gizmo module. Then we can all fly about like klingon warbirds. Shocked

EVEBoard ...Just over 60million skill points, each skill was chosen for a reason. I closed my eyes & clicked another skill to train... "BINGO...!!!" ... "This time i got something usefull"

What you see, now on the test server and tomorrow on TQ, is exactly that: What you see. All others see your ship utterly disappearing.
It would be a bit difficult for you if you cloaked and the ship would disappear for you as well would it not?....Big smile

That said, this thread gets a lock as it all based on an unfortunate misunderstanding.
