For instance, I have a modest bounty on me. 20 or 30 million, I think.

Thing is, how dumb do you have to be to put a bounty on a forum alt? Probably about as dumb as the people that have war decced me, I guess.

I once had a 50 mil bounty for a while before losing a ship, and it dropped to 43 something. The next person to place one on me very carefully calculated it so my total would add up to 50 mil again. Made me smile. Big smile

I suggest next time you use a Miasmos, you can fit a nice tank and have some warp core stabs in the lows in case it turns out to be a trap.

Also, fewer trips to make.

There is nothing quite like the feeling of watching an enraged carebear not only place bounty on you, but run off and get his Navy Brutix and then scream in local about how he wants to fight you.

And that, my children, is when you undock the t3 murderboat..;)

Everything in EVE is a trap.

Bounties are a scam by CCP, set up to remove ISK from the wallets of noobs. However, non-noobs can place a bounty on true-noobs to enter the bonus room for a chance to make a true-noob rage-quit the game. Either way its just CCP trolling noobs.

Something even more meaningless than bounties is kill rights on people with -10 sec status. Either people will shoot at them or run away from them.

I think about 70% of my bounty came from one guy I like to refer to as the Premature Hyperion... because he shot too soon.

Only newbies place bountys, this necessitates newbie asplosions.

Wannabe missioner gankers also place bounties if their intended target does not step into the trap. Especially if said missioner rather toys with the wannabe ganker, wasting his time. But you are right - bounties tell usually tale of someone fuming for reason or another. They are like tears with numerical value.
