Hi Guys,

I've been away from the game for a few years, and while I am reading up on some of the changes, there have just been too many for me to keep up with. For every article I read that says one thing, theres another that says something totally different... In most cases both are (or were) right... just that one is old and outdated, but usually they are NOT dated, so no idea which is which lol.

I am looking for a direction to take my account... am considering buying a new toon and would like some info if anyone would be so kind...

I am looking to maximize the number of L4 missions I can do per hour. For that, I need to know what ship/fit/skillset to look for. the goal: to snap in to any given L4 security mission, totally destroy whatever is there as fast as humanly possible, rinse and repeat.

Back in the day I used a navy BS and sniped from 100km out, but it did take a while to clear some of the missions... I saw a video of a Tengu missile/shield spec that seemed to do it in half the time I used to @ 35km or so (while taking absolutely no damage at all).

Before I go shopping for a tengu pilot I want to confirm if possible if thats the best choice... or if there are better ways to do it nowadays. I also read something about torpedoes being the way to go... I know there is not definitive answer, but would really like to get some up to date info at the very least.

Anyway... thanks in advance for anyone willing to kick me some info. :)

I have a far better opportunity, for only a billion isk I'll let you come over and watch the grass grow out in my yard. If that isn't exciting enough for you I have some painting that needs doing, you can watch that dry for the mere sum of 2 billion isk!

But I'd say usual answers still hold pretty well. Mach is great for all around blitzing, good agility and high warp speed. Despite what I said earlier the tengu can be good in a few spots as it projects well and can speed tank nearly anything, but doing clear all missions in a tengu is one of the worst ways to go. Marauders are pretty dang good. Rattlesnake can do insane dps now, but I think it is annoying to fly. Navy raven is decent but I prefer turret ships.

also don't forget decent frigate skills for the new burner missions. Sounds like the daredevil is pretty good for most burners.

A lot of people overpay some really bad amount for a weak tengu pilot, in the range of 8 B or so, for maybe 22 M SP.

Whatever you do, don't make any hasty decisions. Too many times I've seen people ask for advice in the middle of an ongoing character trade negotiation, and then make a purchase after waiting just one hour.

I haven't been on character bazaar since yesterday, but I recall a couple weak character sales that stood out, lemme check my browser history... here we go... this is a pretty typical example of a relatively empty, overpriced Tengu pilot. http://eveboard.com/pilot/Meho_Mahaha

The best thing a Tengu pilot could do is use a faction battleship like a Navy Megathron, and the best level 4 missions are in Lowsec, in The Citadel region.

Having just recently finished my Tengu alt, dont
He has now become another industry alt and is doing better at that.
Dont know if its me or what, but I am having a hard time finding where the tengu does well at outside of a pimp fit
Which given I have seen the ganks, is a very bad thing
Even more so when people think they can gank my normal mission ship with significantly more ehp

I use a Paladin with 1100 dps with Conflag L at 35 km optimal.
A regular lvl 4 mission takes me aproxx. 6-10 minutes to complete while a mission like: The Score, World's Collide, The Blockade and Damsel in Distress takes a little longer due to gate distance or too many dangerous triggers.

In one whole day I earn roughly 100 mil from bounty and reward, another 75 million from loot and 25 mil from salvage.

Note: This is against every single faction, though Sansha and Blood Raider missions are done quicker of course.

I use a Rattlesnake, with a second character in a Domi set to drone assist the Rattlesnake with sentries. Chews through the mission rats in no time at all. The Rattlesnake alone gets over 1300dps, add 800dps with the Domi, boom. Use a Micro Jump Drive, and very rarely even take damage.

Just use T2 stuff for the tank and modules because if you pimp your ship out too much, you will become gank bait and will most likely lose your ship and all the shinies on it.

Ask yourself, "How long am I going to run missions before boredom sets in and I want to do something else?" Then ask yourself, "How pissed off at myself am I going to be for being so short-sighted as to buy a character the sole function of which is rapid completion of something I'm tired of doing?" Unless, of course, you have the sort of mind that can be happy doing one thing.

Have a nice day. Big smile

This thread is just bad and I hope you feel bad.

That ringing in your ears you're experiencing right now is the last gasping breathe of a dying inner ear as it got thoroughly PULVERISED by the point roaring over your head at supersonic speeds. - Tippia

Usual promo for Domi and sentry drones.

Provides a reasonably safe way to make isk from level 4 missions slightly faster than I lose it on pvp.

This is not a signature.

1. Go for any marauder - they are the rockstars of mission running nowadays.
2. Machariel gets close second due to fast warp speed and agility - use the mach if blitzing missions.
3. Rattlesnake gets third nomination due to eft dps king capability, but as someone said above, it is a very tiresome ship to fly...though it is rewarding and the graphic visual of the scorp hull is just wicked.
4. Don't fly the tengu. It's just not that good anymore. Sad

For better results, get a pilot that can fly the vargur and the machariel. Between those two, you wouldn't need anything else for pve. At the same time, if the pilot has good gunnery skills, core skills, and can fly all minmatar t2 ships below and at BS class, you can still rock at pvp with certain ships (vagabond, sabre, rapier and the oh so special breacher - needs missile skills though).

It has always been more about the mission lottery and less about fit for me.
