EVE Launcher not working - endless "downloading EVE Launcher update"

I tried to login to EVE online about 10 minutes ago, but I received a "Downloading EVE Launcher update" on top of the update bar, which is greyed out and not moving at all. The play button is also greyed out.

How do i fix this?

Also having this issue. Ugh Stuck on Downloading EVE Launcher update
On Intel Imac Mavericks.

PS: Why patch on a thursday?

I dunno :/ the exefile.exe in the bin is good as a workaround, but I would still appreciate the launcher working

Doesnt work this morning. Going to trying deleting eve app and downloading it again.

Had this same problem. Tried deleting eve.exe, and it worked since It's been renamed and moved to another folder (?!?)

I am also having this issue. Tried to log in and the launcher began to download an update. This goes as normal and then the launcher installs the update but as soon as the progress bar completes, it begins to download again and when that progress bar ends I get the message:

"FAILED TO DOWNLOAD UPDATE FOR EVE ONLINE LAUNCHER"

I logged in successfully via the EVE Online application file in the resources folder of my EVE app.

I'm on a Mac running 10.9.4

It works now. Waited half an hour, yesterday and afterwards it worked!

Your problem is different. Can you attempt to reinstall the EVE Launcher from this: http://cdn1.eveonline.com/EveOnlineLauncher/release/EVEOnlineLauncher_2_1_826897.exe

Yeah, well….I'm having significantly worse issues now. Over the weekend I figured I'd just uninstall and reinstall the EvE client and now I can't even open EvE at all. Currently working on my 5th reinstall attempt with the previous 4 attempts ending with the error message "the application, EvE Online appears to be broken please move to trash" (or something like that.) On the 5th attempt, the EvE icon would just bounce on the dock for a minute and then fail to open with no error messages at all…kinda frustrated right now….

Well, 5th time was apparently the charm as I was able to successfully log in buuuuuuuut……I had to go into and open the app directly as the launcher is still not working.

If you get the message "EVE Online appears to be damaged and can't be opened. You should move it to the Trash" it's because of OSX Gatekeeper. See Apple's knowledge base article lists this as one of the errors it throws. If you lower Gatekeepers settings as per this forum post, you should be able to install it.
