He doesn't play eve, how many times do you have to be told this?

After what you did to him I hope he's getting treatment and not playing video games.

Uhuh ok...
You are going to need bigger bait.

If EvE had no Xenuria, who would unify the blocs?
Who would defeat the goons grrrrr?
Who would teach people how to build star gates or wormholes?

For me, it would have to be Cannibal Kane and corbexx. Both of these players (at different times) helped me lots in deciding where I want to be in Eve.

Cannibal helped me know that I wanted PvP and he gave me a lot of items when I first started (I simply happened to be in the right starter system at the right time). He also explained how PvP worked and why it was fun for him.

Corbexx took the time to sit down with me and explain wormholes (this was before he was even a CSM candidate). He helped me understand a fair bit about how wormholes worked and I knew that this was were I wanted to be.

They're my personal ones though.

For less personal ones:

Chribba and, as much as I hate to say it, The Mittani. Everyone needs the bad guy (or good depending on the way you look at it).
The creators of WH mapping tools such as Siggy, Tripwire and wormhol.es.

Fixed you post for you Big smile

Quoted from Doc Fury: "Concerned citizens: Doc seldom plays EVE on the weekends during spring and summer, so you will always be on your own for a couple days a week. Doc spends that time collecting kittens for the on-going sacrifices, engaging in reckless outdoor activities, and speaking in the 3rd person."

I actually love Chibbra.

Remember that whenever you have a bad day in EVE, the correct reponse is "Thank you CCP, may I please have another?"

Sorry. We dumped you for Gevlon Goblin. Its not us, its you. If you stopped posting/logging in, nobody would notice or care.

Is there any player entity in the game right now who's disapearance would either be concidered a huge loss to the community or would at the very least change the game as we know it?

Share your opinions on who and why.

You are certainly NOT on that list.

Well that's a shame. You provide an excellent balance on the forums between snark and helpfulness. The world needs more people like you!

Never heard of 'em. Can't be that important.

CCP are removing the official channels. Nothing is preventing people from creating their own channel dedicated to their language.

The worst news anybody can get.

EVE is a game about spaceships and there's an enormous amount of work to do on the in-space gameplay before players (or developers) are ready to sacrifice it for a totally new type of gameplay - CCP Rise

Me.

Oh, wait, sorry...thought that said "can", not "cannot", and figured I would chime in with a "me too!".

Yeah... the one player entity we can't afford to lose.... the CASUAL GAMER.

Lose a few thousand more of those and it won't matter who the "celebs" are... the red ink at CCP will have a much, much bigger effect on the game overall than a handfull of famous players.

Shocked

This. The problem is that it's only the hardcore and the famous that gets their voices heard.

If the masses would have gotten the right to vote we'd have a bigger EVE today with Incarna and other wild projects that would have opened up EVE to alot of players who prefer to have avatar based interaction for example.

But no, basement dwellers that play 18 hours a day are the ones that gets their voices heard and that's not healthy for EVE, not healthy at all.

In my opinion, we should lose the hardcore players.

Maybe you meant inside the game.. I think the leadership in the larger rookie friendly corps (BNI, E-Uni) could be considered impactful (but once again their impact is on a metagaming level). Same goes for the existing members of CSM.
Quoting for truth - especially dotlan <3 - and for Sibyyl-ness (the community can never get enough of that).

Otoh, if you love EVE so much that you never even crawl out of your basement, I think you should be catered for more than, say, some random dude with a dream job and social and sex life, that just logs in once a week to laugh at people like you.

No, you are absolutely wrong. Why? Because the majority of the players in 95% of all games are casual players which means that in order to get more subscribers you need to adapt your game after those settings.

Hardcore players only bring drama and butthurt feelings because CCP isn't creating the game that THEY want to see. Unfortunately they are less than 10%.

This is the funniest thing I've read in GD in a long time. Thanks for the chuckle.

I had no reason to go to null last night since null came to us in Black Rise/Placid. PL/Snigg and even Razor made a move to Hallanen. Even a member of CVA was in Vlil.
