Okay guys, it's that time of year again!

Rules of this thread:

  • I know the title may be misleading but we only suggest ships that have a chance of beeing balanced.
  • Try to be precise, an idea is not enough, try to describe and find arguments why this ship might be usefull and is not another generic gunboat
  • Give some basic attributes like class, race, tech level, etc.
  • If you suggest something take a moment and comment on other ideas so we can get a discussion going.

Actuall ideas:
Not all these ideas are necessarily mine but some are suggest pretty often and so I safe you guys some time posting them.

So in my opinion everything bigger than a BC is pretty boring so I would suggest to add several new tech 2 destroyers which would be, like the tech 2 frigates very specialized


  • [Destroyer, Tech 2, Cruisemissile Platform] A destroyer able to fit CMLs like SBs can fit torpedos, maybe even with a 300% bonus to flight time but a velocity reduction by 70% so the overall range is huge but it would be easy to dodge with reasonable fast ship or by just warping out if not pointed. Speed and tank should of course be low to force it to be far away from the actual fight. A native rate of fire reduction by 50% could be role bonus which could be reduced to 25% by the primary skill.
  • [Destroyer, Tech 2, Defensive/Logistic] A ship able to fit 'Defender Missiles' which a pretty useless atm but if the following chages would be applied they might be useful: (1) Create 'Defender Missile Launcher' which does not need a missile bay slot (2) Change the Defenders so they can intercept missiles aimed at fleet members (3) prevent multiple missiles from intercepting one incoming missile. This kind of destroyer would not have any turret or bay slots but still 4 high slots and different bonuses to support the DMs a strong tank would be needed as well.
  • [Destroyer, Tech 2, Decloaker] I think the name implies the idea - a destroyer that is able to fit a unique module which decloakes ships within a 20km radius but with similar drawbacks to the interdictors.
  • [Capital, Tech 2, Carrier] A huge ship able to only fit a captial cloaking module but is able to carry player friagtes and is more a station than a ship. It would allow ships to dock, repair, fit, etc. maybe even the use of a clone bay and could be used as a forward operating base to strike fast and leave the system without using a gate - destruction of the ship would cause death of all pilots and loss of all ships.


Okay, it's getting late - I will add more ideas later if you wish but I hope that some other people have some great ideas

Khanid T1 ship line: Long range lasers, close range missiles, ECM(strength)/neut(range) e-war boats, energy transfer specialized logistics
Style of the ships is like Caldari just with Amarr shapes.

A caldari T1 ewar ship that has optimal range bonus to target painting instead of ECM. It would gel really well with railguns and long range missile platforms.

changing t2 ship manufacturers to follow their class lines:

ex. would be ishukone would go:

Raptor>Harpy>Eagle>Vulture

Viziam would go:

Anathema>Pilgrim>Redeemer

and so on and so forth.
