Hi all,

No idea if we have ever had a Dublin Meetup before, but I have decided to go ahead and organise one.

Since I have no idea what I am doing I am basically stealing Glasgow Dunlop's formula for the Glasgow Meetups and organising it for a few hours on a Saturday afternoon, and having it in a pub with nothing fancy whatsoever! By starting reasonably early, we also hope to cater for people who do not live in Dublin and do not want the expense of having to stay overnight.

I will be in attendance along with Connall Tara from Fly Reckless, and hopefully we will get a few more.

Bowes pub is very close to O'Connell Bridge, and sells good beer and whiskey, so it is a nice place to have a few drinks in relative quiet and is very centrally located.

All are welcome, even you weird people who do not live in a wormhole for some reason. :)

My thinking was we would enter through the cellar door behind the bar, steal all the pints, and exit the same way, barring it on our way out. :)

Yep, this is definitely going ahead, and there are rumours being whispered in the dark corners of the internet of more than one castmember of Fly Reckless planning to attend, which would be cool.

Hoping we will have a good turnout, but at this point we have no idea.

Bowes is a cool, old-school pub, but it has a fantastic selection of craft beer and single malt whiskey. It is my local in Dublin.

I know if I lived in Scotland I would be there................just kidding. Sounds like a lot of fun, make sure you take pics we need to start creating an album of the fan hosted meetups.

I will also mention it on our podcast and our 1 listener from Ireland will get the info, unless that one is Gynax........well then our viewership is already covered.

Will prolly drive over to arrive mid afternoon. Will sort a hotel - there was one not far from the bridge i used on the last Dub meet in 2006 - was a comfort inn or quality hotel - same chain anyways - good value

One could go crazy and start in the first pub then go to the second since the first is close enough to where the Aircoach pulls in and the second is close to where the Aircoach pulls out :-p

EDIT:What time roughly would it finish since I'd like to know when to book the outgoing aircoach time,Cheers

Hard to say, I imagine it will go on for as long as people want it to. :)

I know there is a rugby game on (Ireland vs Australia) but we have a few tables booked, and we can move upstairs if we need to, but as it stands we have no idea how many people are going to show up.

Myself and Connall should be there from around 1400 on to make sure our tables don't disappear, really looking forward to it.
