Getting sick of all those bombs killing your battleship fleet out in null? Well use that one launcher slot to fit a launcher loaded with defender missiles. Defender missile that would instead target bombs also, not just bombs but both bombs and missiles. Thus, most of the bomb damage is mitigated unless they stay on grid and fire torpedoes, in turn running the risk of popping just along with their targets. A single ship with one launcher could remove one to two bombs from play before the rest hit. By doing so the gate camping for single to small gangs is still viable in a decent fleet of bombers. The range of the defender missile would have to be shortened so that they focus more on bombs and not the tengu's missiles out at 70km, but still go after the missiles once in range along with the bombs. Nothing in eve should be a complete hard counter or everyone would do it.

Well Let me know what you all think.

Bombs don't target you. I think defenders only work against missiles aimed at you

Is that my two cents or yours?

Ah, well no one ever uses them so i guess no one knows exactly, I'm just trying to get the meta to spread out a little from bombers and HACs.

It's not a bad idea, but yeah it would require completely changing the mechanics of how defenders work.

Not that it would be a bad investment of time, but it's just not been a priority.

Still, Fozzie and Rise sometimes get just as irked by old useless items as the rest of us do, and occasionally are able to devote resources to something like this.

Here's hoping.
