What's the deal with our cyclopian capsuleers?

I see quite a few capsuleers with an eye patch or a scar tracing through a milky dead socket. Surely, such a malady would be afflicted before being transformed into a capsuleer given our constant clone refreshes when we reach our numerous, reckless deaths. Indeed, even if they were maimed before becoming a capsuleer, the cloning process would surely provide a properly regenerated host body free of non-genetic damage.

I therefore suspect that you patch wearing pilots are really hiding a good eye, and the pilots with a milky dead socket are wearing a colored contact lense.

So, why do you go through such theatrics to feign an eye injury? Is it to look tough? To impress the girls? Explain your vanity to me. PiratePiratePirate

It is an enhancement, so I can see better.

As a part of the cloning service your chosen facility will helpfully gouge out your eyeball, strictly for the sake of consistency.

They will also outfit your million isk clone with the billions in clothing that just recently died in a fire.

Don't worry about it, it's just science.

The best part is getting the tattoos and piercings redone every time...

All that new, pink and rosy flesh straight out the vat, ready to be pierced and gouged all over again, and again, and again...

My eyepatch is none of your business.

From Wikipedia:
Quote:
Given their penchant for blacksmithing, many scholars believe the legend of the Cyclopes' single eye arose from an actual practice of blacksmiths wearing an eyepatch over one eye to prevent flying sparks from blinding them in both eyes.

Us demigods are pretty vain I guess. Gotta have my hair done just right every time. Piercings in the exact same places.

This clip always comes to mind: clone scene

A cyclops has only one eye socket, btw.
