Scottish Independence Referendum - Did you vote?

Polls are closed now, so there's no point in rehashing the arguments. One question:

Did you vote, and if so will you be up for a bit of a drunken roam while we wait for the result?

Can Scotland's navy defend the North Sea oil fields?

The proposed Scottish navy is close in size to that of Norway which holds a similer sized oil field. So, yes.

However defense of the oil field isnt really the priority of a naval force they are more used for border control and policing of the fishing industry.

Norway? I was talking about Her Majesty's Navy.

As someone unrelated to this referendum what is the reason Scotland suddenly wanted out of the UK? I keep seeing this on the news lately and didn't pay much heed to it.

Salmond won the Scottish parliament election and an independence ballot was part of his manifesto (people only voted for them because they are fed up with the other parties), he has spent the last few years taking every opportunity to badmouth the "evil English" in an attempt to sow hatred but thankfully enough people saw just how destructive splitting up the nation would be.

Generally the Scots hate Salmond just as much as everyone else but they did run a much better campaign then the no side despite giving no info and having basically everyone in charge of anything from all around the world say its a bad idea (apart from North Korea, Kim seems to be a fan).

In the end though this could be a good thing as it looks like the other parts of the uk will be getting more local powers so I guess we can thank the Scots for that. Maybe the North East can finally get a motorway and an electrified east coast lineStraight

This downtrodden Welshman rather likes his evil English overlords.

They gave us tea, and the Garibaldi biscuit.

I for one having roots on both sides of the border am glad the union is in one piece still :)
there will always be some 'friendly banter' between us but the UK is stronger together than apart.

I had loved to see how they'd changed the Union Jack if Scotland had left. Without the diagonal white lines and without the blue background it would have looked kind of odd...

I'd like to apologize for the poor quality of the post above and sincerely hope you didn't waste your time reading it. Yes, I do feel bad about it.

But, if they want out, can't they just move somewhere else?

And now we'll never know. *sniffle*

Personally, in terms of intellectual curiosity, I was looking forward to the possibility of an independent Scotland's economy collapsing and then seeing Englander's desire to re-build Hadrian's wall (electrified and mined of course) to keep out the 3rd world Scots from taking jerbs from good Englishmen and from freeloading on the English taxpayer by sneaking across the border to take advantage of the English social programs and economic success.

What would an English Tea Party be called?

But mostly I wanted to see who would gain/keep control of the oil fields.
