Hey all,

I've been playing the game off and on since roughly 2003, I take lots of breaks from the game as I enjoy it but it seems if you want to do the exciting stuff that happens in null, eve is more like a second job.

Several years back, I played with a null sec group who wanted all their members to take turns providing protection to their mining ops, not really the kind of thing I'm into.

Is there any particular playstyles and corps/alliances that would suit casual gamers? Either L5 mission running, complex farming, incursions, piracy, wormhole farming etc? I'm looking for something that will return my interest to the game but not require me to spend x hours each day in the game, something I can dip into when I'm feeling up for it.

No. We all are totally controlled by tight schedules and alarm clocks.

It's a frakking game. Do what you want when you want and where you want. Look around recruitment forums to find suitable corp or advertize yourself.

No-one is going to post in GD saying, hey come and join my farming corp, as that is probably going to lead to bad things happening to them.

Also, consider the position of some corp that does have a nice little isk making venture. What have you got to offer them? Might they think you are just an alt or someone that just wants to pop on every now and again and leech off their hard work?

It's all out there you just need to go out and find it.

Isn't piracy the farming of corpses?

My suggestion: AFK pod /shuttle hunting is very casual and a lot of fun. Just logon, take a Trasher and kill autopiloting pods/shuttles at gates. You need zero preparation, the ships are cheap and the killmails are hilarious.

CODE. seems to have a lot of fun (seriously) if you can pull one gank or caper a day I don't think you will feel denied casual enjoyment.

Exploration is also a casual gamer's realm for the most part.

The key that I have observed over the years is Time Zone. When I was doing the Hub Zero thing it was me and just a few people (friends and enemies) combined logging in at the time I played, so targets were scarce and so were allies.

GO FW and join a corp. My killboard is a good sign of my activity for my EVE time. Really busy now so I don't have time to join any fleet ops. An alternative version is fly solo in FW but there's NO ONE in AU TZ. Several blue ball roams made me stop solo roaming.

Post with your NPC alt main and not your main main alt!

Hilarious. Eventually even hacking paint and giggling gets old.

EVE is more like volunteering your spare time to your church & having them put you down for having a fulltime job instead of working for them for free because money is sin.

I play Eve like I'm keeping my distance.

But I don't want to LOOK like I'm keeping my distance...

So I just play casual.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

... in EVE, I have sooo many people to play with all day .....

....... aaaall day ............ every day ...........

...... and we have wwwaaaaayyyyy too much fun to stay casual ..........

True, but it's fun for a while and if it get's old you just blap other stuff or do something else. The important thing is that you have fun doing it and it does not start to feel like a job, except if that's what you are looking for.

null sec turned into the most boring place in eve, trust me.. if you want real action and a group that allows casual gameplay/no alarm clocks you should try faction warfare or any other way of low sec pvp
