Petition to remove pvp ship combat from high sec.

I don't know about everyone else, but I know that I'm not alone in this.

I'm tired of having my ships destroyed in high sec while I'm carrying expensive goods. I'm tired of not being able to retaliate against people like the agents of New Order because I lack the isk, guns, and skills to do so.

They call us care bears, but they don't understand that we are the ones who make it possible for them to build their ships. They don't understand that we are the ones who harvest the minerals, ship them, and sell them. And yet, they abuse us. The suicide gankers make it more work than it's worth to mine, ship, and sell.

We might not be the ace pilots that a lot of the Eve community is, but we run the markets and the asteroid belts. If we wanted to fight in pvp combat, we would go to low or null sec space.

Personally, I joined Eve because it looked like a fun space sim, and it's a good game, for the most part, but I recently quit because I don't want to deal with the suicide gankers anymore. I'm taking a stand against allowing this kind of behavior, and if I have to stand alone at first, then I will. It saddens me to see such a great game stained by the company that made it.

I know, a lot of you are going to call me a carebear crybaby, and what not, but I don't really care. I know there are others out there who feel the way I do, and CCP might listen if we all raise our voices together.

I know there have been attempts like this in the past, but we have lacked unity and persistence. I will persist when others tire. I will unite us when we are divided. I will bring the carebears together, and together we will crush the suicide gankers and wannabe Concord agents into the dirt.

CCP will listen to us. They will change. They will submit to the will of the community.

EDIT: I just saw that LackofFaith suggested that I should post this in another forum. Please link it. I don't come on here much, and I don't know which forum you're talking about.

Edit: Nevermind. Found it.

So get the ISK guns and skills to do so. What is the problem you're trying to solve here?

You understand that highsec is a PvP arena same as low and null, right? Why should that change?

Does this mean we can still mock bad ideas for being bad?
I mean really really really bad?

I have a better idea for you:

Try using your brain. Do some research, ask some PvP pilots and especially highsec gankers, and learn a thing or two about the huge number of counters and safety measures you have against getting blown up in highsec rather than expecting CCP to do all the work for you.

Seriously, it's not that hard if you're prepared to actually try rather than AFK hauling through 0.5 systems like an idiot.

I'm not even going to go into the economic impact your "idea" would have, because if you're not smart or experienced enough to understand scouts, route planning, tank fitting etc. etc. than god knows you won't understand a word of the wider impact on the game.

This ^
Seriously. Most PvP'ers are actually pretty decent folk who will be more than happy to chat with you about fits and tactics if you manage to take a moment to pull the stick out of your arse and address them in a civil manner. No joke. When I manage to splode someone and they ask me 'wow, how did you do that?!?' I will happily explain to them not only how it happened, but also how they can prevent it from happening in the future.

It's a game, and we're all playing to have fun in our own ways. Sometimes that fun may come at your expense; if you take it with some grace and are genuinely interested in how to get better at what you do, you may actually earn a bit of respect from those around you. In the long run this coupled with what you learn from your mistakes and the mistakes of others can make your life much much easier.

Come hell or high water, this sick world will know I was here.

I've got a jar of dirt, OP's argument is invalid.

Benton,

I'm not one of the PvPers, I'm primarily an industrialist these days and I still disagree with you. I am also yet to lose an industrial ship in empire.

Looking at your killboard, you lost a billion isk worth of i tems because you were transporting them in a paper bag. If you had used a ship designed for the job (Transport Ship, Freighter), the likelyhood of you getting randomly ganked would be significantly lower, if not impossible (stealth transport).

The loss you took in that case is literally your own fault, but I understand that you feel that it is not your fault, and rather a fault of the mechanics (which have been this way since the game came out) which should be changed to accommodate your play style.

It's important you understand that all the people disagreeing with you here are not the suicide gankers wanting your stuff, I'm a freighter/tranport user, and I disagree with you too.

Same here.

I wish they'd remove pvp in battlefield 4, it's just not fair. The game would be so much better if they removed all the guns, i mean, who needs all the violence.

Some tables and chairs would be nice instead, we could all sit down and have a chat about the issues, enjoy the graphics and chillout.

No, you're whining on the forum. Taking a stand involves you using the in-game tools you already have to do something about it.
