EVE General Discussion

I've known for a while now that real life is gonna get really hectic very soon here, and gametime is gonna vanish. That said, I can honestly say I've had a blast playing and will keep the idea of reengaging someday in the back of my mind.

I spent the weekend having some unwise fun, like blowing most of my <1 billion ISK on my first battleship and fitting it for my first stab at a Level 4 security mission. Nearly lost it all, but came through by the skin of my teeth! Fun stuff. This dropped me down to my last few hundred million ISK (and lost my battlecruiser to boot). But I've got a couple PLEX in the pocket, so I figured I'd sell those for a quick injection of ISK and go out with a (literal or metaphorical) bang during my last week.

Anyone have any suggestions? (I think PLEX is going for just under a billion right now, right? So I'll have something between 1.5-2b for two PLEX?) What's on your bucket list, or what's something in EVE you'd recommend everyone try at some point? Wormhole jumping as far as I can before I get lost completely? See how far out into nullsec I can get w/ the biggest toughest ship I can buy until I'm blown to pieces? I've kept a list of people who killed & podded me unprovoked as a sort of vendetta list, but I don't think searching random characters out and getting my ass kicked by them is the most fun way to go out.

I wouldn't like to leave all my stuff hanging in limbo, especially since I'm not sure I'll get the chance to come back to EVE, so if anyone knows of a reputable corp or group that likes to help out newbies, let me know and I can probably donate a good amount of stuff (some gold, some junk -- bit of a packrat).

My skills are kind of all over the place, though:

• Armor @ 303k pts: Layering 3, Hull Upg 2, Mechanics 5, Remote Armor & Hull both 2, Repair Syst. 3
• Drones @ 755k: Drones & Light at 5, Avionics & Repair at 4, Medium & Mining Drones at 3, Durability, Interfacing, Navigation, Sharpshooting at 2
• Elec @ 252k: Cloak 4, Target Painting & Prop Jamming at 2
• Engr: Elec Upgrades & Power Grid Mgmt 5, CPU Mgmt 4, Cap Syst Ops, Energy Grid Upgrd, Weapon Upgrd all at 3, Cap Mgmt & Cap EMission 2
• Guns @ 436k: Gunnery 5, Sharpshooter 4, Med Hybrid, Motion Pred, Rapid FIring, Small Hybrid, Small Projectile at 3, etc.
• Production @ 263k: Industry 5 (thought I'd want to get into R&D, which fits me IRF, but never did!)
• Resource @ 312k: Mining & Mining Upgrades 4, Atrogeo, Gass cloud, Reporcess, & Salvage 3
• Rig @ 41k: Jury 3, Armor, Astronautics, Drone, Hybrid Weapon, Shield, Launcher all 2
• Scanning @ 59k: Survey, Astrometrics 3, Archaeology, Astrometric Acq., Astro Rangefinding, Hacking all 2
• Science @ 545k: Research & Science at 5, Lab Op 3, Mechi Engr, Metallury, Molec Engr, Rocket Science all at 2
• Shields @ 123: Shield Op 4, Compensation Emissions Syst, Mgmt, Upgrades all at 3, Tactical Manip 2
• Spaceship Command @ 1,484k: Spcship Cmmd, Caldari Frigate, & Mining Frigate 5, Cal. Battlecruiser, Cal Cruiser, Cal Destroyer, ORE Indust, & Gallente Idust all at 3, Cal Battleship, Adv Spcshp Cmmd, Mining Barge, Expedition Frigates, Cal Indust all at 2
• Targeting @ 110k: Target Mgmt & Sig Analysis at 4, Long Range 3, etc.
• So low, not worth typing: Leadership, Missles, Navigation, Neural, Trade

Sit in Jita and advertise that you're leaving EVE and want to give all your stuff away for free. I'm sure you'll get plenty of people willing to take advantage of such an original offer!

Seriously, though....if it was me, I would hang around one of the tutorial areas for a few days and try to find a genuinely deserving newbro and make his/her start in the game much more enjoyable by passing on some of your stuff and that BS, rather than getting it blown up. Whilst dying in a fire and possibly getting a kill or two on the way (though, not if you attempt to run the null-sec gauntlet in a BS. I'd give you two jumps. Max.) is fun for a few minutes, making someone's day with an act of kindness, in what is a harsh, cold, dog-eat-dog environment, would feel all the more satisfying, I would imagine.

You never know; you may come back to the game at some point and that newbro may be in a position to repay the favour.

Alternatively, you could put all your stuff in a can, video yourself blowing it up and post it here to troll all the "Can I have your stuff" brigade.
