Why can't you password protect an SMA?

Hi! Seems very weird from my sight. Why can't you password protect an SMA? from other members in corp?

What Ramona is saying is, if you build a corp around people you can trust and work with, and have passed security checks, and you know how to set roles, which is corp management 101 (ie something you should learn or already know prior to setting up a corp and recruiting people), then you don't need a password.

Because CCP is ******** sometimes... This is how majority of thefts occur in WH space. It seems like an easy change to make as well - just copy-paste code from secure freight containers..

I think this will be adressed down the line once POS code and roles are rewritten. Would make operational security much easier to handle.

There is also another possibility - CCP intentionally wants to keep SMAs unprotected. Corp thefts, like it or not, do make the news.

But its silly, because how much stuff can you really take from an SMA - some mods, a couple of tengus? Couple of bil? Come on, its childs play. The real big thefts occur on director-level, and involve master wallets, not some line members' SMA with a ratting tengu in it.

If you lock other corp members out of it they can't refit ships on the fly unless there's an Orca with the SMB opened to corpmates available, something of some importance when you live out of a POS.

Corp friendly fire, restrictions on kicking undocked players from corps, and this are all examples. These mechanics have few practical purposes beyond allowing players to go rogue.
