The Camel Empire - Who are we?

As many people are wondering who we are and what our past experience with tournaments is, here a small post about our history.

The Camel Empire is an alliance created mainly for the AT and consists basicaly of 3 corporations: Turn Left [C4MEL], Friends of Harrasement [SPAM.] and Mining industry Exile Foundation [MIEF]. All 3 of those corps have been in friendly relation to each other for some time before forming the alliance and have been flying together on regular basis.

Turn Left (TL) has been created almost 3 years ago, after some of the current members left Muppet Ninjas (TinkerHell and friends) to focus entirely on small-scale PvP. Over the years we evolved to one of the most active roaming corps and managed to gain a reputation as skilled pvp'ers.
For AT X we tried to reunite with TinkerHell, but due to internal differences we didnt manage to sign up and left shortly after.

Among the many friends we made over the time was Exodus. [LOLGF], and after having flown together almost daily for roughly half a year, we accepted their offer to join the alliance.
One of the reasons for this was the upcoming AT XI, which was the first tournament for most of our members. It was chaotic but fun ride with Exodus and we came awfuly close to beating PL in the loosers bracket finals BO3 (The Tengu is breaking!). TL was fielding roughly 1/2 of the Exodus team in that AT and due to timezone issues, a lot of us had attended a very small amount of practices.
(We also came 2nd in some SCL, but i honestly cant remember the circumstances anymore)

After AT XI we wanted to stay on our own feet again and left Exodus on good terms (we still love you bros).
The 2nd NEO was around the corner and HYDRA approached us, if we want to take some of their members into our team, as we were lacking numbers and they had too many for the limit of 12 people. We formed the team THINGY and started to practicing together with the HYDRA team aka Warlord Of The Deep. The result was a convincing 2nd place for THINGY in NEO 2 and the desire to continue working with HYDRA for the upcoming AT XII.

We took the players from the THINGY team as core and expanded it to the size of a propper AT team. The result was The Camel Empire as it stands now. (btw, this is the prime example why the cut-off date thing CCP does is complete bullshit)
AT XII was like a fairytale for us, we never expected to get 1st (we where confident to get at least 3rd tho) and after almost getting 2nd last year with Exodus, it was a huge satisfaction overall to see that all that hard work and time we invested was worth it.

The tournament showed a lot of strong teams in general, while some old ones where struggeling (PL as prime example, their piloting and theorycrafting was less than stellar tbh). We were sad that our practice partners HYDRA got kicked out so early but we where happy to see a new team like Tusker do exceptionaly well.
The overall meta was really meh in the end. Less and less piloting skill was required and it became more and more a clear rock-paper-scissors game. CCP needs to find a way to spice things up a bit more (MJU's where gimicky, but not much more than that) and the point system definetly needs a finer grading and has to split some of the faction/pirate faction cruisers in particular.

Congratulations to all the winners again and a huge shout-out to HYDRA for all the support.

We are looking forward to next year (and the next NEO)!

PS: we wanted to do an interview with CCP, but 2 days before the final weekend we didnt really have time for that.

I have been a big fan of the stuff you do and it made me happy to see you take the first prize. Also love your propaganda.

Looking forward to see more. And once again gratz with the win.

Friends of Harrasement [SPAM.] today is a solo and smallscale corp spending most of it's time in lowsec. Intern we are a German speaking corp only.

Brief history starting late 2009
-Lowesec gatecamping in Sagain and other systems in Metropolis, got bored of it pretty fast
-Started regular roaming all over lowsec using T3 gangs, got exposed to R&K and Dead Terrorist mayhem and shared some time and fleets with both of them.
-Exploited the Drake and other nano stuff while it was fun and after T3 gangs were a hotdrop magnet. (And every scrublord corp in lowsec got his own titan)
-Had a partnership with Back To Yarrr while we lived in Ouelletta (Verge Vendor)
-Transformed into solo and supersmallscale with occasionally +5man roaming gangs and lived in Resbroko (Metropolis)
-Coorporating with several other smallscale lowsec corps like Matari Exodus, Mief, Slow Match.

SPAM was never a big corp, we were always med to smallscale with sprinkles of cap use in our history. We meet TurnLeft in Molden Heath about 2years ago for the first time where we shared the same staging system for roughly 3months. We started of as reds but had joint fleets when a bigger foe appeared that developed into something more friendly and more killing together over the years.
About 4months ago we coorporated a lot more with Mief and sharing with them their staging system.

SPAM's code is simple, do what you want to have fun but never use ECM. In other words the majority of our corp members have a very difficult relationship with Falcons and similiar ships.

Hello Eshnala! It appears that not that many people seem to care!

Don't worry! This moment will be forever ingrained into my mind until I eventually forget about it!

Also, with all those winnings, I believe you can now afford a mining permit!

As I've said elsewhere, quality piloting and theorycrafting from you guys. Well-deserved win.

Your skill as pilots is absolutely amazing and it has been a lot of fun watching you and teams like Exodus in the ATs, NEO and back in the SCL (exodunks!). Congrats.

I will always remember Camel as the alliance with Dalikah in it, i.e. the player who gave me my first solo fight in low sec years back. May you all continue to take the solo pvp virginity of many new pvpers for years to come...
Cheers o/

I pity you for so many reasons. If I was allowed to say on the forums that CODE is a bunch of sand castle kicking little penised, dickwads whose time in eve is as much wasted as their teacher's time in RL then I would definitely say it.
Unfortunately I am not allowed to so I am definitely NOT going to say it.

Congrats Camel. Amazing skills, amazing upsets and a well deserved title.

Good. Otherwise I would have had to remove your post.

That said, I would like to congratulate The Camel Empire with their well deserved victory.
Brilliantly flown matches at times and fun and exiting to watch. Good job!
