Just thinking about the Rapid Light launcher when the reload speed was 10s like the other launchers, turrets, the rapid light launchers was usefull, and now? why the 35s reload time? while the hybrid weapons can reload in 5s (i know only kin/therm dmg) but these stuffs designed for cruisers the heavy rapids for battleships(this means for me some advanced loading system or something), so my only problem is if these launchers don't get the bonus from the ship like explo velocity/radius etc etc...why the long reloading time? How about give these launchers the ship bonus where they got fitted or do something about the reloading time maybe skill book or something, because now it's useless.

The reason for the long reload time on RLMLs was because they were were used in almost all ranged/kiting tactics due to their superior damage application to HMLs. And the DEVs felt that HMLs were already "balanced."

So what they did was install the long reload timer in Rapid Launchers... which was somewhat compensated for with a faster rate of fire.


Whether there is another pass on HMLs and Rapid Launchers is up in the air. But I will say that Caracals fitted with these things are a very scary sight for most frigates and destroyers... and that HMLs can shoot from very long ranges, at very high speeds, at very odd angles and still hit something... even if the applied damage is nowhere near its "on-paper" damage.

Rapids are very excellent for their burst damage, the reload timer compensates for it. But if you fight attentive you will be able to negate that a lot. If you are looking over good average dps over an hour tower bashing . those might not be for you °°

Rapid Heavies are much better in many cases for mid an short range then cruise or torps for example due to high rate of fire and better damage application.

Anyway, there is no real suggestion, its more a Q&A I guess.

The reload timer of all weapons is a penalty for you fools who don't fly Amarr and use crystals.

I appreciate that rapid lights had issues prior to their current iteration but they're just so much reprocessing junk nowadays if yer not pvp'ing.
