I have tried to run a couple of relic sites but it tells me " you need special equipment to access this site" I have a relic as well as a data analyzer equipped do I need something else?

No you should not need any additional equipment. Are you targeting the container then activating the module?

Might need to train up skills. Also make sure you have the correct type of analyzer for each specific site and Civilian modules won't work.

Other than that, it might be a bug. If so, submit a Support Ticket and let CCP sort it all out.
