So thanks for that. It's on this topic. Check it out here if you want. http://youtu.be/A5Slrs2wn80

I put that one in the OP as well :)

Its cool but i miss lens distortion effect on cloaked ships (like in crysis). This lens distortion would be cool on ice belts and wormholes too.

Also there is too much "water ripples" effect on that cloak in my opinion .

But its definitely better than current cloak effect.

In my opinion though, the cloak breaking animation should be way way faster, more like it malfunctionned or something. With random hexes randomly decloaking everywhere on the ship until, one second later, the ship is visible.

Because when you think about it, a cloaked ship takes time to dissapear, but an uncloaked ship appears instantly.

It looks nice. I got an idea about this. There is targeting delay after decloacking. This delay is based on skilles, ship type and module type you are using. Decloacking graphical effect could take as long as targeting delay. So the decloacking ship pilot will know when he can start targeting and "ambushed" pilot will know how much time left to run away.

I really like this, although it would be even better if you centred the point where it came from so it radiates out from the middle, rather than the side.

It's random and I like it very much that way.

The point where it radiates from is random apparently. Still pretty amazing :P

Looks absolutely beautiful!!!

I think the transition needs to be sped up a bit though.

Is the animation supposed to reflect the time it takes between activation of the cloak, and when you actually disappear in space?

Heh, can't wait till people start whining because you are easier to decloak with the longer visualization.

The two step animation works much better with removal of ships from space when looking at another ship cloaking or decloaking, that's a nice improvement. The way that the cloak spreads over the ship was better yesterday though I feel, I really liked the organic look to the creep over the hull more than the current... dithering effect?

When actually cloaked I think ship visibility's too low. I don't get the hate on the hexagon patterned refraction effect, it's gorgeous and is very convincing as an optical cloaking technology.

It's not the hexagon effect (well for one or two it might be) but that the effect itself is too bright - or was too bright in the first iteration.

I find the lower quality shadier one to be far better looking the new hex one is way to bright and actually makes your ship more visible in some cases
