Dear Apo, I would edit this out very quickly, not that is has been discussesd without end and stomped into the ground for good reasosn, it will derail your discussion in no time and lead to ad hominum and detract from your rest of the posts. I'll delete this too as soon as you do, so no trace will be left.

I won't comment on new roles for EOM ships. They are fairly unique as it is.

Stick them in a wormhole complex. One big central hole, with a few connections to a stable set of military/industrial fortified holes that each have connections to a stable set of frontier holes, that all have normal connections to regular wormholes and k space.

Lorewise you can say the EOM found an unprecedented sleeper site that led to a planetary colony. There they found the tech to create a semi-stable set of wormholes that they now effectively have SOV over. While the connections don't always go to the same hole, they do always go to one of the same set----so the route home changes and goes through a few frontier and fortified pockets, but never completely closes nor goes beyond a few jumps.

Within their stable wormholes they have a planet for PI, abundant resources, and the means to strike out more or less where they wish.

EOM sites could start popping up all over, with local escalations that lead to a site with a gate structure that leads to the frontier holes. That's a one way trip once the gate structure is destroyed, the connection lingers from the kspace side for 24h, but getting back is by the normal means. EOM ships could start popping up in belts, randomly warping into missions, etc.

I think it would be rather awesome if NPC factions from time to time invaded other NPC territories. During the invasion the pilot could pick either side to fight for and would receive LP for the faction that is being fought for along with more ISK per rat kill.

After so many rounds the NPC faction with the most number of ships lost would lose control of the system.

Personally I've been thinking about the EoM for a long time and I may have even posted some stuff about my ideas for them in the past but I'll let my brain spunk into this thread right now seems as it's on topic:

EoM start to appear inside Sansha incursions. Just a single ship here and there. If destroyed you recieve a snippit of data from it hinting at a live even happening in the future and other data about the EoM plans.

After a while and enough data has been fed to the community the EoM show their hand. They do so during a Sansha live event incursion (remember the old ones when they raided a planet for people to become slaves). During the incursion, which will be in a high sec system, EoM appears and drops a cyno (EoM have aquired tech that allows them to use cyno's ANYWHERE). Sansha use artificial wormholes, EoM use unjammable cyno's. They then bridge in a fleet of carriers and dreads with a sub cap support fleet and engage everyone, including sansha ships, around the artificial wormhole. They also use an advanced science ship to stabalise the wormhole and approach it. They announce that they have came to take Sansha's wormhole tech and approach the wormhole. Sansha escalate by jumping their own dreads through the wormhole and epic combat ensues. Players can support who ever they want or just try to kill everyone. The Sansha wormhole will also become traversable so fighting can occur on both sides.

In the end, the EoM have shown their tech and it becomes apparant that they intend to try and re-open the EvE Gate with the Sansha Wormhole tech. They fail to get the tech from the battle but after the battle the EoM and Sansha call on support from capsuleers to join their cause as both sides declare open war on each other. EoM space and some previously unknown Sansha space (area of space currently not on the map) becomes accessable. This area of lowsec becomes the battleground for the EoM-Sansha pirate factional war (the first pirate faction war).

People who join the pirate FW militia's will be able to carry out normal FW activities for LP and discounted faction stuff from the LP stores. However, they will be aligning themselves to a pirate faction and will receive a permament -10 sec status whilst in the militia (or a permament criminal flag).

EoM also start carrying out their own incursions as they can move freely with their cyno tech. More incursions but a different flavour to Sansha

EoM ships would be active shield tanked snipers with long range warp scrams/disruptors. They would be slow but have excellent tanks and range. I would imagine EoM ships to look like this: link and be Amarr-Caldari based.

EoM and Sansha capital ships become available through LP stores.

So, if this feature was implemented you would get:
EoM incursions
Pirate factional warfare
New factional warfare space
New pirate hulls (EoM frigate, cruiser, battleship, carrier and dread. Sansha Dread)

Most of the above already exists so developement should be fairly easy:
The factional warfare and incursion mechanics already exist and would just need a change in "appearence"
"Actual" new content would only be some new ships and space, however, it would look like and feel like a massive expansion to the game!

This. Needs. To happen.

Make EoM and Sansha the "big" pirate factions. Keep Sansha nullsec, no point in changing that, but open several hundred new Lowsec systems held by EoM and Sansha. Sansha space would start East of Querious-Khanid, stretching under Derelik and finally stopping at Molden Heath. EoM space would start North of Aridia, stretching under Syndicate, and dropping off in Black Rise. At their lowest points, there would be a faction-warfare cluster which bridges underneath the center of empire connecting EoM and Sansha space. Basically, the battleground between the two factions. Maybe have a few pipelines from empire connecting to this new FW zone. All the new space would consist of entirely new regions.

New EoM and Sansha ships pirate ships, maybe give them some complete T1 ship lines... Throw some new roles into the mix. New Sansha/EoM caps. The Sansha would have a heavy Shield/Laser dread, while the second would be a heavy sheld tanked blaster dread. Think an inverted Revelation and Moros, respectively. They wouldn't cost much more than the current t1 caps, and likewise wouldn't be any more powerful.

Don't the Thukker's already have presence though? EoM is dying for a revamp. They have an interesting backstory that is right for new gameplay mechanics or for new content.

With all the bad blood in the incursion communities right now, maybe it is time to let Sansha rest for a bit. He knows he's not enslaving the universe any time soon.

Send Sansha to lowsec only.

Put the EoM "incursion-style" game play in hi-sec with only vanguards or lower class missions, headquarters in lowsec.

I don't know... I'm just rambling.

There needs to be changes, new story, new content, not arm tattoos and t-shirts. No one really gives a rats ass about that crap.

Give us new places to go, new things to do. New enemies to kill.

Trust me there's nothing going on in null sec right now. Everyone is holding their shorts waiting for the next war, which no one wants.
