Implant Removal Surgery

Don't worry! This is not another "let me salvage corpses" thread. Please read the idea properly before posting some well rehearsed comment about choices having consequences.

  1. You have an expensive implant in your clone that you want to swap out for another implant.
  2. This requires you to undergo brain surgery. You must therefore be in a station with medical services.
  3. For the right amount of ISK, the medical staff will remove any implant you choose from your head.
  4. This surgery leaves your brain in a delicate state and you are advised to avoid neural shocks for 24h.
  5. You may only have 1 implant removed at a time in order to avoid brain damage.
  6. The removed implant is returned to your item hangar.

So just to make it clear: You go to a medical facility and pay ISK to have 1 implant removed without destroying it. This triggers your Jump Clone cooldown timer. You cannot clone jump or remove another implant until the cooldown is complete. You can only do this at a station with a medical facility.

The only drawback I can think of is that it's yet another middle finger to wormhole dwellers. Maybe that could be solved with a "Robotic Surgeon" POS module?

Example
You fly a T3 booster for your corp/alliance. You have a shiny Republic Fleet Warfare Mindlink for shield/skirmish links, but your FC decides to take out an armour comp with lots of sensor damps. No worries! You simply have your expensive mindlink removed and plug in your Imperial Navy Warfare Mindlink for augmenting armour/information links instead.

I do NOT like your idea at all.
But after reading it twice... why don`t allow it in Wormholes ONLY?

There would be an advantage for the players there and the risk to loose the pod for a silly imp would be worth it.
If you have to anchor your own POS in a WH to remove an 600 Mio ISK expensive implant, it would not be worth to do so.

also why not just buy a new jumpclone, jump clones are cheap and if you want to replace your slave set with crystals now you can have both!

Strictly better!

Ah number 526 of this topic... Get back in line buddy with the others.

No for every reason there exist in this universe besides 42.
It would destroy prices on implants.

I really wish people would stop apologizing for everything that gives wormhole dwellers a reason to remember K-space exists.

Wormholers have to go to K-space for something? How terrible - kind of like this idea.

Implants are fine and having to decide carefully and then live with your choice is equally fine. You lot of idea-posters could do with less requests for mollycoddling and less looking to water down of the consequences aspect that makes EVE what it is.

Note: I did read the OP and I never rehearse. So have at ye, landlubber.

don't get these ideas.

CCP even gave a skill at add more JC's...you get more now.

And a skill to reduce time on JC. Its not even the 25 hour (technically more than a day) waiting period.

Also maybe it me but what is the value in just 1 implant pulled. My clones are a structured build of several implants. My pve tengu clone for example is a bunch of 5% hardwires and talons for example. Have gun clone with 5% "gun" implants. Etc. taking out the 1 implant not making them cheaper beyond the omega.....which if I factor in removal kind of wrecks the set really. Want a cheaper clone....there is the say +3 clone option.
