Hidden stations/new stations

What if there was some hidden stations, some u need to scan out, some u find by Luck during a mission, some u just stumble upon.

Stations that sells rare goods, Shady agents that offers missions that dont follow the mainstream, have a blackmarked which have high demand for illegal items, some stations also require corpses or assorted living humans or animals to conduct Experiments on. Even rare bpo or ships suddenly can be found for sale in the stations....

Stations where Things aint what ure used too. Some days u get dockingpermit, some days ure told to bugger off....

They would be hidden for about 2 days, then they would all be mapped, and analysed. Refer to WH space for how this occurs.

The idea on its own is not bad. Maybe things like pirate jump-capable capital ships/stations that relocate often and move through space on their own?

Would also fit well with the theme of pirate factions getting more bold.

Still even if people are sharing the BM's like crazy it still puts a bit of flavour into the game.

i was actually thinking the same, small kind of station thats able to move/jump... or have the sansha Technology to create wormholes and move thru them.

Ive been in various npc stations in null... stain, curse ect ect, its mostly the same, but With a Limited marked of the usuall stuff u get in pos or highsec.

Not a giant intrusion, its would be an alternative marked which provids more not so usuall items and some goodies from time to time.

Sov Null... i pretty traveled there and dont need a lecture on how it is ;)

Pirate stations have your different missions.

A player operated market is one of the core elements of the game. Adding a giant new NPC market goes against that goal.

Sov Null has what you asked for, some days you can dock, some days you can't.

Right. In a market you buy things, correct?
Then you can put these things in a ship, correct?
Then you can undock this ship, correct?
Then you can dock in another station and sell the things you bought.
There's the link to other markets.

The problem is the NPC produced/purchased goods, not the idea of some separate market interface.

There is no way to have any part of EVE unlinked from every other part.

ofcourse there is a indirect link betwene markeds, but the idea is to have an alternative marked that supplies the odd, rare and exotic items.... or illegal items.....

Rare and exotic items (officer gear) are traded on the normal market.

Illegal items (drugs) are... also traded on the normal market (to a lesser extent).

Both of these are produced by player effort.

Again, the problem with your suggestion is that NPCs are producing the items you want to buy at these special stations.

But is that such a big problem as u predicts it to be? an alternativ supplier that randomly shows up in different systems?

One of the *Core* game design goals of EVE is a player run market filled with player produced items.

You're suggesting adding an NPC run market filled with NPC produced items.

Do you see how that doesn't fit in with EVE's design goals?

Well.. NPC have alot of sell and buy orders i most of the NPC stations, such as skillbooks. Only in Null, is it a fully playerdriven marked.

Yes, skillbooks and blueprints are the prime exception to the "players build everything" rule. Virtually everything else you see on the market is produced by player action.

PI goods used to be another exception, then Tyrannis came out and now players build PI goods.

That there are exceptions to the goal (for various sensible game design reasons) doesn't mean that more exceptions should be added.

Kind of a pointless discussion - the 'hidden' feature is lost after a few hours. The 'moving' feature will not be implemented as won't moving planets... °°
Disconnecting a market or a (possibley all) players access from his goods on the market or in the hangar for roleplaying complexety's sake of less then a few dozen players = Nope. I could give that 'NO' some more attributes, but I am sure you know which tone that would have.

Anyway, this is too silly to actually waste more digital letters on °°.
