Global General Chat?

(This idea wouldn't fit into the features/ideas forum, as it is about a General chat channel so therefore it should go in General Discussion. Mods, please do not move this topic)

I was deeply pondering the state of E.v.E. last night, glass of Pinot Noir in one hand and Descartes in the other, and I found myself wondering why E.v.E. lacks a single general, global chat channel like many other MMOs have. These channels are often a great generative source of creative thought & cooperation, and I think E.v.E. Online could benefit from such a meeting place.

The reason EvE lacks a global chat you autolog in (because there's plenty of global chats, just very few you autolog in) can be provided by examples:

-Jita Local, (most tradehubs really, but Amarr, Dodixie, Hek & Rens are tame compared to Jita)
-Rookie help chat (autologin when you're new, but auto-logs you out on 30 days, unless they removed that)

Gets so spammy & chatty you hardly can keep track in there, and those only contain a minority of people online...

Have to remember, Eve is a single universe, meaning that at any one time, tens of thousands are online, cramming them all in a single channel would just make it redundant & useless.
Most other MMO's don't suffer this, because on their servers at most few hundred (maybe a thousand if they're really crowed) are online at any time and so can offer global chats

If you want a global chat wwhere anyone can join in, no matter where he resides, create a player channel, or join one of the myriad available channels in the channel list.

how does one define "bots, spammers, trolls, knuckleheads, or rascals"

Players can create their own channels which are "universal" or "global".

What we don't need is CCP creating what would amount to as nothing more than a global SPAM channel.... because that's what it would turn into faster than you could refill your wine glass.
