I've found that there are more decent, mature people in this community than in most of the kiddie games out there. I have often been helped and educated by complete strangers, solely out of the kindness of their heart, and/or their inclination to pass on some of their knowledge. Often right here, in these "toxic" forums.

Oh at least be honest, it was a whine in the form of a question.

Never tried it out though!

Seriously, you really don't want a candy bar like what Billy has.

Trust me on this.

Cool! :D

The autopilot spams docking commands, perhaps not as often as it can, but definitely as soon as it can. This means that as soon as your warp is complete, the AP sends a docking request, and that part is handled server-side so the command often triggers before the client has been informed that it has arrived. The transition should be pretty much seamless.

The difference between the “as often” and “as soon” behaviour is readily observable if you try to use the AP to get past a Jita poplock: you can spam the jump button far faster than it can so you'll get in quicker manually, but on the other hand, the AP can activate sooner after warp than you can. Since the “remote dock/jump” command includes a slight pause these days to give cloaks and the like time to deactivate, I'd say that an AP-triggered jump actually beats that as well.

I can't speak for anything else, but the worst examples of this kind of crap that I've ever seen have been hidden underneath "concern" or "questions".

Especially seeing as you did not just ask a simple question. Your entire OP is full of attacks against the very concept of ganking, and any other non consensual PvP, to the point of calling it an exploit, and when a freaking Dev comes in to say that "yes, we think this is fine", you call it "spewing a bunch of crap".

So I have absolutely no problem whatsoever telling you that you're playing the wrong game, that your kind of "player" is not wanted here.

[edit:

TL;DR: You are not EVE's target audience.

The only thing to remember about (ab)using the AP is that you have to remember to turn it off after each activation. It can also get really bothersome if you misjump. The number of times I've accidentally picked the wrong station bookmark and then sat dumbfounded as the AP failed to dock and instead tried to warp-to-15 on a spot that, inevitably, was hidden behind the station I jumped to. It really loves getting stuck in awkward positions, it seems. Oops

Same goes for using the AP to jump: you definitely want to kill it during the jump animation so it doesn't break your gate cloak (or, worse, warps you to 15).

in referance to the link i posted you can't dock and be cloaked at the same time so if someones waiting at the station a bit off your landing spot when you warp to 0 on a station in an Instalock Nado how is that not at least partly an exploit? there is no way you can be truly "safe" in high sec when these types of tactic's are used. i personally have been a victim of this almost exploit.

Viator attempting to dock at Jita gets instapoped by a instalock nado, ganker loot scoops and makes 30m profit while im out 600m

Okay, there are some stations where you do not land in docking range and have to fly a few hundred meters to get there. At this point you are vulnerable. The easiest way to mitigate this is to create a BM at zero somewhere else on the station, either the top or bottom is usually good.

Another thing to remember is even when the loading screen appears, your ship is still in space. So again for those few seconds you are vulnerable.

The best thing to do is to make dock at zero BM's at stations you visit often well away from the standard dock / undock points.

This should give you more then enough time to dock up.

you know what your right im not ok with high sec suicide ganking i think its a broken system that only leads to anger and hate. but that dosn't answer my question as to why is CCP ok with this?

the problem i have with the post i referanced for the most part is how he phrased it he phrased it like most toxic players in this comunity would. in the words of Nelson "HA HA"

the "exploit" was in reference to the dock timer abuse part of that gank by the time that nado could have shot me i should have been in station but due to some reason i wasn't. but Tippia has given me a solution to this problem.

my only problem with this game is how a good chunk of the player base essentally gets off on the masochistic side of it a side for a good portion i don't participate in.

now this isn't to say i ***** and complaine everytime i lose something its a matter of how said thing is lost that iritates me.

(i don't know how to referance a new post in the thread so here's my version)

Thank you Prince Kobol for adding something constructive to this thread.
but Tippia beat you to it :P i've been playing this game for 2 years now and never realized how easily one could explode while docking.

With non consensual PvP?

I'll answer to the best of my knowledge.

EVE was devised by people who were sorry to see the destruction of Ultima Online. Ultima Online was a game that had near total player freedom, to a degree that even EVE does not possess.

It had non consensual PvP, also. In fact it was a large feature of the game. But somewhere along the line, the developers of Ultima Online bought into the now oft repeated lie that they could bring in more "casual players" if only they did away with PvP.

So they split their server in two, creating Trammel, which means "handcuffs". In Trammel, PvP was basically impossible barring hilariously unlikely aggro tricks.

Trammel killed Ultima Online. Because it destroyed player freedom, which was disastrous. Within months the game was functionally dead.

So, the guys who designed EVE having fled Ultima Online because of this, determined not to make the same mistake. They allowed non consensual PvP, they valued player freedom, and they did not sell their core playerbase up the river for the sake of a purely theoretical increase in casuals.

So, in short, non consensual PvP exists because it is the purest form of player freedom, and player freedom is not only worth protecting, but it's the founding principle of EVE Online in the first place.

You mean sadist. Masochism is enjoyment of self harm.

Although I suppose that could certainly apply to miners.

Thank you for an actual answer to the question but please call it what it is its suicide ganking. Non consent pvp in my opinion is more for a situation where you're in a Wh or something and get ganked while running PVE sites. or even Wardec's in my honest opinion this is diffrent from both of thoes situation's but maybe its not to CCP.

yes you are correct my bad.

OP ... before you understand what "PvP" means ...
... you will always be pretty clueless about what's going on.

Your opinion is irrelevant.

Are you seriously too daft to understand that the facts of the matter
are not only beyond your head, but also beyond what you think is an opinion?

Do you even understand what an opinion is?

It's ****.

It's irrelevant.

Non-consensual PvP gameplay is literally everything in this game.

Even the forums have PvP gameplay!
Not that you understand that anyway!

Get off your stupid high horse and stop thinking that your opinion matters,
because it doesn't.

What matters is reality.

So often that you learn either to understand the game ...

That's reality ... that's non-consensual PLAYER VS. PLAYER GAMEPLAY
and your irrelevant, uneducated, blablabla can not change anything about it!

he does kinda have a point. this community much like the internet in general has slowly over the last 10 years or so become more and more about getting off at the expense of others
