How often does this update?

Same with a lot of other stats, they seem to be way off.

Like players in space shows 1, I jump in and there is 15 guys sitting there.

Not sure.

I've been playing for over +6 years and I still haven't really figured it out but I think the map stats update every 15 minutes.

Thanks for you reply but I think it is much more then that.

I think it is anywhere between 12 and 24 hours.

I will keep an eye on it.

The stats get wiped every once in a while. Typically when certain expansions happen; I'm guessing when they make significant changes to the database, they toss the old data rather than trying to port it.

I see it as more as a gimmick than something worthy of analysis.

My system visited have been stored as long as this toon has been alive, which isn't to say that they might delete them at some point.

i am not 100% sure and i am not at my home pc to check .. but i am pretty sure it goes alllll the way back .. i can recall looking and mine and seeing me all over lonetrek .. been 10 years since i lived up in northern lonetrek .. and down south in khanid where i lived in my 2nd year .. pretty neat to look at really .. but i could be wrong .. my wife tells me that.. alot ... so i second guess myself .. alot.

My results only go back to 2009, anything before that has been deleted and the results for 2009 aren't terribly accurate.

No, it can't be that long. I originally said 15 minutes but it could be a bit longer. I know Assets, Wallet, Contract, Market, etc can all take up to 5 minutes to update. Even the positive changes to personal security status from destroying NPC's is updated every 5 minutes.

I'm inclined to think the starmap stats for active players in system, active players docked, ship / pod kills, NPC kills, Jumps, etc. is updated every 30 minutes, especially since there's an option available to view those stats within the last 30 minutes.

The question is does that 30 minute update timer start on the Client side after logging into the game or on the Server side after downtime is completed?

I have my doubts, because going back over the years there were several times when I checked my stats and the map was completely empty (restarted) after previously having a significant amount of data.

Maybe I'm just cursed.

I've noticed that using WHs to jump to different areas do not get registered on systems visited for whatever reason.

I kept track of where I went last night, It didn't register on the map at least 16 hours later.

So as an explorer keep track of where u went. I did a real nice 180 backtrack and was stumped to find so many systems without any valuables.

I'm pretty sure it updates after downtime.
