Enemy of some empire. To be or not to be.

Hi.

I didnt know if u have bad standing with some empires they will atack you. So now as i did also missions against caldari and amarr, i have bad relations with them.

Amarr took less than -5.0 and i got atacked, but not killed, caldari is not a big problem yet.

Now i trained some socials and im -3.9 amarr and -1.7 caldari. Im doing caldari and amarr missions now to restore standing.

But thinking on it, i wont be able to make missions against 4 empires, and that missions gives insignia, and are good to sell or to take faction stuff.

Have 2 questions :

-Is it really bad idea to chose 2 empires and be in war with other 2 ??

As i see if u just go fast and dock, jump etc navy wont catch you. Or do they become faster and bring better ships when ur standing becomes worst. The time i got atacked was because i stayed stopped on space, and appeared one ship and making me very low dps, i managed to scape with nearly all hp.

- If I dont do that "against empires missions" can i become max standing on unless one of them, and the other not worst tha 0 ???

Thanks all for ur time. Bye.

Hello and welcome to Eve.

As you already know, completing Anti-Empire encounter missions for Tags to use in the Loyalty Points Store will definitely make you an enemy rather quickly causing Faction NPC's to attack. They're basically a nuisance and if you don't loiter in the area, you can pretty much evade them. However just remember you'll be hard pressed to do anything else other than quickly travel through that Factions space.

To counter that train up the Diplomacy skill when needed to stay above -5.00 Faction. That will allow you to enter enemy space without being attacked by their Faction NPC's. Eventually though the Diplomacy skill won't help and you'll have to either remain an enemy or complete some missions for Event Agents to regain Faction standing.

The 'Faction Standing Repair Plan' has various options and steps listed as well as guide links for Event Agents. The main thing to remember is 'The Plan' can be customized to fit your specific situation. You don't have to follow it step by step if you don't want to..

For example = If you just need a couple of quick injections of positive standing gain, then just complete the Data Center 'Cert' missions followed with a couple of 'Tag' missions if needed.

Hope this helps, good luck to you.

EVE is a game where your actions have consequences, some good, some bad.

You can still play the game while hostile to two empires, but the cost is pretty significant, especially if you **** off the Caldari/Amarr side, as Jita and Amarr are the two biggest trade hubs in the game, and they are in Caldari and Amarr space respectively.

That said, Dodixie, Rens and Hek are the #3, 4 and 5 trade hubs, and they are in Gallente or Minmatar space (I think Rens is, but not 100% certain, Dodi is Gallente and Hek is Minmatar for sure, however) and you can always do any shopping you need to do in Jita on an alt.

On the flip side, being hostile to Caldari and Amarr probably means you have fairly good standings with Gallente and Minmatar, which will help you if you decide to set up trading in Dodixie or Hek.

In all honesty it comes down to what you want to do in the game in what it sounds like you are doing there is no significant benefit or loss to having a negative faction standing as you are running missions. But if you choose to do something else, such as incursions or live in a wh this will hamper your flying as it will restrict movement and logistics. Most player who expect to end up with negative standing do it on an alt to allow mains free passage for pvp, or use hauling alts. Remember if you choose to change your game play you'll have to deal with the consequences.

Always willing to help all you have to do is ask, though if you're in the other fleet I may not help the way you want. Just a heads up. Pub Channel: Lost Souls Trading Post

DeMichael Crimson is the forum guru of standing, so do pay attention!

Missions against player factions are optional. I never do them. I can't be bothered to collect tags anyways.

Storyline missions are also optional. If the reward isn't worth the standing loss, I skip those too.

My alts just don't bother with any player faction missions. Example: 9.63 Caldari Navy (higher with Connections skill applied) and no Caldari standing, or any other player faction standing.

For fun mostly, what's the combat power of the faction ships? Can they be dealt with? Do you collect a tag or two?

I have been -10 with the Minmatar Republic for the past 5 years or so. The only drawback I've ever noticed is the fact that if you undock and suffer a sudden lag spike or crash, you'll probably lose your ship to the NPCs. Shopping in Rens hasn't been that troublesome in battlecruisers and below.

The NPC ships get more powerful in higher security space, e.g. 0.5 NPCs are tanked quite easily whereas the damage and energy neutralization in 0.9 and 1.0 is insane. The NPCs have also exhibited broken E-WAR (broken webs and un-cancel-able warp) but I'm not sure whether that is still the case.

i just locked an open door.. strange, yet symbolically compelling.
