Changing a Pos over - why do you have to remove every other item

I cant understand the logic of when changing a Pos over to a better one that youhave to dismantile everything. If you were changing Race Pos then yes but i wanted to upgrade my Pos to a better one.

However i have to take everything down which is a right pain when you have around 50 items. Why cant you offline the pos and then swap it over with say a 6 hour delay period or something. Its worse in High sec as people see what you are doing and then wait till your pos timer goes down and a group of people start bouncing you away so that they can take or even claim the moon to them sevles.

the only person you can attack is the one that takes it and no on else. or you get a visit from Concord.


Its like having a ocean liner and you need to change the engine, but in order to do so you have to dismantle the entire ship,


there could be a number of options

1) allow to upgrade the Pos Module without removing the other items but with a time penailty for it to get synced to your system, this still leave it vulnerable
2) If you have to dismantle every item, no other corp / ship can enter the buffer zone for a period of 2 hours
3) Anyone within 15km of the pos module when being unachored is liable to be attacked without Concord support.

ive ended up not doing it as its a busy system and people are just waiting for the pos to be unanchored with the countdown timer

+1 with a few tweaks.

I would also like ownership of a POS to change should the person who deployed the POS change corporations. That, however is a whole other enchilada.

CODE is just a bunch of pirates; smart, organized pirates. It doesn't help to rage at them because that is exactly what they want. Dust yourself off and get back on your feet, you don't even have to talk to them.

Starbases need a revamp as a whole, but I'm for making them less painful to manage.

because it adds the risk v reward to POS changes to a bigger one/changing ownership meaning you have to take care


but i do agree its a pain in ass to do

Well its annoying, but ypu dont have to do it all in 1 shot, space it over a few days or just remove all but the tower, go do something else till the pigeons go away, come back make the switch.

Also helps to have your own bumpers to block them.



Although theres always that old modular pos thread (pos size wpuld be changed dynamically by adding more parts to it so ypu could technicall grow a pos from a small to large, with a max size ofcourse)

But that horse has been long since dead.

Sorry, Legacy Code prevents it.

Because the Legacy Code has too much Psssssssssssssssh, nothing will ever get fixed until CCP stop wasting money on failed sparkle MMOs and instead rewrite the entire backend of EvE from scratch.

Might be speculation on my part. But the messing around with the new deployable structures. Basically I think theyre working out a plan to do a new tower system from scratch.

You don't have to, that's were you are wrong.

You just :

  • empty everything (unless you are ok with losing the cointent),
  • offline and unanchor everything, (leave in space)
  • offline and unanchor old tower
  • scoop old tower
  • drop new tower, anchor it, online it
  • reachor everything (it's all alerady in position)
  • refill everything you emptied

I did just that a few weeks ago.

Obviously, the modules that are in space unanchored can be stolen by anyone.
