Is not the spreadsheet type of UI what really makes the whole thing look and function bad for a new player,i just that i feel so overwhelmed from the fact that i need to have all this info on my screen because is necessary but theres very little customization Visual wise to make it both work the way i want and make it look like a modern game and not a Windows 95 program. The combat is more like fighting the UI rather than the NPC/Enemy-player. Id love to get any suggestions on how to improve that if theres any way to do it

Why you gotta insult Windows 95 like that bro?

You know this is the same for pilots IRL. They're used to steering by looking through the windshield. Stick them in a plane with a heads-up display and they keep trying to look around the display and out the window. There's a whole lot of pilots we lose annually worldwide because of this.

That's why instrument flying is a specific qualification, and most air forces around the world spend a month or so training their fledgling pilots to fly by instrument, and not by the seat of their pants. It's not easy at first, but believe it or not, over time it's the only way you'll feel comfortable flying, and in the end you'll be managing with even more information on your screen you've put there yourself.

Some new things just take a bit of getting used to. Believe me, you're now among thousands of players who have learned to use the UI instead of trying to gooseneck through a window. You can't seen anything out there anyway. You're either going too fast, or it's too far away to matter.

Clutter is a problem. Setting up your screen so you can readily find things is a wise move. Developing habits around your new UI (and so your new experience) is even wiser. It won't take long. Dive in. If I can do it, I know you can do it.

Paradise is like where you are right now, only much, much better.

It's easier to deal with on a higher resolution. Still can b painfull sometimes untill you get used to it

Oh, I perfectly understand, Hal Morsh — a mission like this requires courage, skill, and heroism… qualities you are clearly lacking. Have you forgotten you're one of the bloody immortals!?

Not only can you get suggestions from players but soon you'll even be able to get customised UI settings through the game itself. So UI settings for PvP or PvE, or even whatever it is you want to do, you can get from more experienced players: http://community.eveonline.com/news/dev-blogs/sharing-is-caring/

The issue isn't the UI, but your inability to seperate thoughts. :p

I completely disagree with you

Also... little customization? Did you even try?

It's little customization if you don't have a "one-button to do whatever you want it to do" button.

Post with your NPC alt main and not your main main alt!

OP is doing the exact same thing he blames EVE of doing; creating a mess that's almost impossible to comprehend.

Say I'm fighting a Cynabal. I always thought it'd be cool if instead of the pic of the cynabal that shows up with the three HP bars as I target it, there was like a real time 3d model of it including it firing and getting fired upon. That way even though I need to be zoomed out to play the game efficiently, I could still feel like I'm fighting a Cynabal and not a red flashy square.

Actually the UI is pretty complicated for old farts like me. It took me years to find some of the hotkeys and other doohickeys that make things go or stop. Now I sort of know what I'm doing... like, I know which end of the weapon gets pointed at the enemy and the button that makes my drones behave.

Come hell or high water, this sick world will know I was here.

I wish there was an option to turn any engagement into a pokemon style combat.

Your the one criticizing here, 'put up or shut up', as the saying goes..

You feel overwhelmed because you're being fed an overwhelming amount of data; with which you can do many things. It's what makes this game better than others.

Some say "lol spreadsheets in space"?

It is a lot to take in. Keep at it pal and you will find the UK is clunky but powerful.
