I love EVE, I'm obsessed with EVE, I'd give my left ball for... err no maybe not my left ball.

They're afraid. I accept that.

Fear has absolutely nothing to do with it, just common sense. Shocked

Still would be great to have a day anything goes.

That's every day in EVE. Roll

But if you have issue with my purge day idea pls post there.

Doesn't mean I'm a fanboy that doesn't notice the many good reasons that many people may have to simply not like the game. Whether they start in Gallente or Jove space.

Good.

I'm no fan boy ether. But I like eve just like most players do.. So giving ideas to help direct ccp isn't a bad thing. If enough players show ccp what they want maybe they will finally hear. Also those who disapprove will be heard too. Or maybe we're all being ignored.. Who knows but I have to try.

once a year I have to add value.. its ccp choice to like it or blue ball it.

I never paid mercs to do a job I could more enjoyably do myself but... handling somebody's left ball would probably be an exception. Big smile

New people don't need a 'chance' they need a reason.

Even if you accept that losing ships is a part of EVE and that's really the big stepping stone, you then need to ask yourself, Why am I losing ships?

If I jump in to M-0 right now, I will lose a ship. It will be caught in a bubble, someone will blap it. No problem, that's the way things are? That's the way things are and I do it. Now what? Do it again? Again? How many times do I do this? 10, 50, 100? Until I am bankrupt? Then what? Back to ISK grind, buy another plex? Do it some more? Why am I doing it?

New, old, people have foresight and EVE has no short term objective in PvP. Maybe if every 16 losses a military agent contacted you and gave you a mission because you showed dedication to PvP even though you suck? One that provided you with some intell and logistics support tied to where you are fighting. A system that rewards you for playing EVE, not winning EVE.

Good Point.

How can they ask that question when they don't even understand the game? They can't even fathom the what happened because eve is so overwhelming to the noob. They need time to absorb. Everybody is different some catch on faster than others. Jove space for starter system isn't locked or forced... Players can leave anytime. It gives those who need more time to learn the mechanics of eve.

Then you could at least put in some effort instead of stealing Mittani's idea (that he probably stole from several others).

I don't care about mittani idea. I never read his article. If your saying that I copied his idea I didn't.. I was chatting with my buddies when it hit me.

If there are some similarities.. Its because we may see similar issues as other see similar issues. Ideas can clash when there are on the same ballpark. But I didn't steal his idea.

I think new players are treated with incredible luxury compared to when I first started playing EVE.
Spawning somewhere randomly in a ship with Aura telling me to shoot two pirate ships. Great.

Nowadays it's here's a Punisher / Rifter / Merlin / Atron, go kill these, go grab that... Oh go ship suicide into that station, and while you're out there... Grab the 1.3 million worth of medium sized goodies. Then before you know it you're given a bloody destroyer, along side all the skill books you need for proper understanding of the skill queue system.

This aside...

Use Jovian space as rookie playground? Absolutely ******* not... Waste of amazing lore and amazing equipment and ship technology.

An achievement system would be ideal for giving people reasons to do all kinds of different activities and provide a reason to do it. A simple badge for doing things like getting killed X number of times in PvP, getting X kills, doing 1 on 1 fights, doing duels, having more then 10 guys on a loss mail, be a CEO of a corp with 100 members, build a Tech 2 item and so forth. No rewards besides the badge would be necessary. Naturally you could ignore all that and be at no disadvantage. The purpose would just be to provide an excuse or inspiration to go out and do different things. Some people don't have use for this, but with others absolute freedom to pick their own activity tends to get them stuck much more easily, then if you had just provided them with a set of predetermined paths to follow. It would also be another way to highlight to the players stuck in a dead end path or confused what goal to set for themselves, that there are a lot of options out there for them to pursue. With any luck they'll find their own goals and personal achievements, while going after the game provided ones.

Jove space, unused and vast. Why not use that space to start players in?
Probably because the Jove do not want capsuleer ships ( or any other ship for that matter) entering their space? Those poor new players would be WTFPWND the second they undock.
