GREEN SCREEN - the filmmakers invisibility cloak

Hi all

Just wanted to bring this back to the fore for discussion, is it possible for CCP to implement a Green Screen Option to the Ship preview window?

i refer you to the following past topics that have been locked

having the greenscreen option to the ship previewer would provide people like myself the ability to integrate EvE ships - i am no photoshop god, nor a coding guru, I'm an amateur Producer/Streamer trying to lay down the groundwork for a persistant tournament league.

as to where to place the option for the functionality of the green screen option - my recommendation would be to place it under the current portrait green screen option. that way the standard player who wants nothing to do with "greenscreens" and "filmmakers"

Funnily enough i read through the commonly proposed idea thread and the rules for the forum section for the topic of implementing more Green screen functionality and as i couldn't find it and after a few eve searches was only able to find 2 other relevant topics i posted this one.

- as i am not a massive forum visitor i will admit it is highly possible i missed something.
how does one petition a forum topic as you say? is it done thru ingame petitions?

Regardless of what u mentioned though while this post is here and unlocked i would really prefer some views on the idea and not just "your doing it wrong" posts.

Now i dont do photoshop or whatever but some ships in the preview window are next to GODDAN INVISIBLE on their racial background, and i have often (to friends not the forum) said i wished i had the option to just turn the skybox off and maybe replace it with one of those funny white walls with the blue area lines you sometimes see when textures haven't loaded properly...

Pretty plz with sugar on top?

i noticed the bad lighting when i was working inside the eve client - is it supposed to be difficult to see features of your ship from 9/10 viewing angles?. while changing the background doesn't change the lighting on the ship an option to up the lighting on a preview of a ship would be nice or perhaps a light from all angles in the previewer - wont effect ingame lighting but will massively improve the ability to take clean screenshots of a ship for what ever purpose that player may be wanting the screenshot

You searched for threads on the topic you wanted to discuss and found two (and I sincerely would like more people to take that effort, so bravo!).
In this case those two threads had already been locked due to 90 days+ of inactivity (It's automatic). Now the way to go as mentioned above by others is to report the thread you want to continue discussing in to us, politely asking us to re-open it. If we see such a report we very seldom refuse to do so. (a reason to let the thread stay locked would be if it was locked by a forum moderator for example)

The way to report a post in a thread is to click on the little flag to the right of the post number and date/time of the post. For your OP that would be: #1 Posted: 2014.08.20 01:30 | (little flag thingy)


Now because this is not a common topic and the threads you found are fairly old, on top of the fact you did indeed make the effort to search for them, I will let this thread stay open.

Keep it on topic from here on and above all civil! And next time, report the thread you want re-opened....Big smile

Even as a long time forum user, i didn't know we could 'Report' an old locked thread to get it opened.

As for the OPs suggestion. Sure I don't see why not. I seem to remember there being a 'greenscreen' background somewhere for our character portraits. If this helps people get word of the game to non players, or produce entertainment for current players, everybody wins!

one other option that would rock my socks off would be, being able to set the export map size to a range of sizes. before you export images from the client
