Against overwhelming odds, you are still here--what keeps you going?

We all face an uphill climb throughout the majority of our life, and no matter what, it always seems harder than the struggles everyone else endures. Yet somehow, we all muster the strength to keep on going. I sometimes don't know how I manage each day, but giving up is a surreal fantasy to me, a concept I am incapable of grasping. So day after day, trial upon trial I am forced to discover what triumphs I will undoubtedly watch myself lay claim to, what unbreakable walls I will inevitably shatter when the stream of life draws me inescapably beyond them.

In my spare time spent looking at memes (most of my time is spare, only a small fraction spent on memes) I have taken quite a liking to Courage Wolf. This meme depicts the wolf unwilling to back down from any challenge, no matter how great. I find this extremely appealing because this wolf is a role model to the way I want to live my life. This sort of advice can give me strength in the most dire of circumstances. I think when I am backed into a corner, I begin to act like Courage Wolf. So when I find myself in a situation escapable only by death, I need only ask myself WWCWS "What would Courage Wolf say?" and I have my answer.

What gives you the strength to carry on?

Brawndo. It's got electrolytes.

i just realize that my life is really actually not that bad and i have very little to complain about. i'm actually extremely fortunate and lucky to be where i am. i could be living in a country where i would have to worry about starvation, terrible diseases or getting raped on the walk to the water well 16 miles away and stepping over dead bodies along the path to and fro.

thinking about that alternative put things in perspective for me pretty efficiently.

I don't think my life is hard. I'm blessed, though sometimes I don't realize it.

I just wish I could go climb a rock 24/7. Not doing so makes me grumpy.

you mean rock climbing? that's awesome.
Me and a few friends do this regularly.. specially if one of us needs an anger outlet..
Mostly in a rec center.. though sometimes we actually climb rocks.. But the former much more convenient.

I like climbing. When I was little, I used to love climbing trees. I miss it so much but there just haven't been climbable trees around me for so long that I've lost my ability. I'd still do it if I had some good trees for it. It's something that I'm missing out on and that bothers me deeply.

If I were King, I would have climbing trees planted around as one of the staple trees.

climbing rocks... is actually pretty cool.. i much prefer it than climbing trees..
But should rocks are not available trees are fine... Except id rather not climb trees in australia.. i might get killed by a creepy crawlie or something.

Also, copious amounts of beer. Spite and beer is all you need.

To be honest I am currently at one of my lowest points in life, in a life that has not been the easiest. What I have done is that I have worked towards being able to help those that are worse off then I. My work is a daily dose of Reality Check. Reality Check is one of the best motivators I know of. Nothing like a swift dose of You Don't Really Have It That Bad first thing in the morning is also a great wake me up. That being said I find myself feeling down for my people as well. Empathy is a huge monkey on my back.
