hey all

Im fairly new to eve and have been spending the past month or so deciding on which direction i would like to take. I have tried many things and the only thing i have enjoyed sp far is mining and i have a character who can fly a mackinaw quite well. The only thing i have left to try is industry which it hink i will enjoy as it may fit in well with the ores gain. Im just struggling a bit with getting my head around it. This is where i need the help of the community, i was just wondering a few things.

what kind of basics skills should i be looking at?
whats the difference between a BPO amd a BPC?
Next to the manufacturing there are some other options to do some form of research for materials and the timing, what are these and are they reccomended?
what kind of things would you recommend to start manufacturing for a nice profit?
how do i get hold of new blueprints or tech 2 varients?
would it be worth using the ores/minerals gained from my miner in thr production process?

please answer as many or as little as you like as all the information is greatly appreciated, also if there are any videos or things i could red please leave me the links

thank you o7

I would suggest you take your questions to google, do a lot of reading (indy is complex and there's a lot to it and the ability to do your own research is essential) and come back with questions google can't answer. Most of what you asked can be answered with a quick search and in far more depth than anyone will here. Bear in mind that indy was changed massively a month ago.

One thing though. Don't think that mining is essential to indy. It is overall, but not on a per-character basis. A serious industrialist will burn through far more minerals than they could mine themselves. Also, with the refining changes it may (depending on your market) be more efficient to sell the ores and then buy minerals.

1. Industry skill
2. Original and Copy
3. It's probably useful to make things more cheaply and quickly, but I don't know
5. T1 things, T2 things, and/or T3 things
6. The market or contracts
7. Is that really the question you want to ask?

1: Mass Production. Advanced Mass Production. Industry. Advanced Industry.
2: A BPO is an original. Unlimited runs. A BPC is a copy. Limited runs available.
3: Each level of ME research saves you 1% on materials at the job level (kinda. 0.9 becomes 1. 1.8 becomes 2. But 9 is 9) you can't drop below 1 thing per run.
4: Look at Ammo if you're starting out.
5: Buy the blueprints from contract, or market. T2 comes from invention, where you take a T1 BPC, add some datacores, let it stew for a while, then see if it succeeded.
6: As long as you don't make the mistake of using them to reduce your price, then sure. Remember, treat all materials as if you got them from the market. Because you could have just sold them at that price.
