Could you kindly make it have have 8 rays, instead of the present single tracktor?

Or alternatively; make it costumizable between 8 slots, of which four can be tracktors and 4 salvagers, or something like it?

Don't get me wrong, love the module, but now that you've made it to save our time, make it save it our time..?

That's it, thanks.

Drop 1 in each site, then after some time you jump back to the first site in a noctis to salvge/loot everything.

Normaly in mission its done tractoring everything by the time you have finished the next mission or next room.

So completely erradicate the use of the Noctis and / or Marauder? Hell no.

The MTU is not a replacement for a noctis. Thanks to the MTU, my noctis has 8 salvagers on it, making clearing sites easy and fast. Learn to use the MTU properly instead of trying to invalidate entire ships and skill lines.

You just single-handedly obsoleted the Nocits.

Also, is your chin alright? It seems your collar is cutting into it.

CODE is just a bunch of pirates; smart, organized pirates. It doesn't help to rage at them because that is exactly what they want. Dust yourself off and get back on your feet, you don't even have to talk to them.

The idea is over the top. Simply a second, more expensive and slightly bigger, version that can tractor two at a time. No more than that.

Yeah well ... hate to rain on your parade but ...

Things were better before the MTU, there were more Nocti around, more Orcas with Tractors and salvaging was a profitable profession for people. There was also all the fun of ninja looting, a great thing for brand new players.

The MTU (along with salvage drones) broke a lot of that and gave people less reason to team up, and to make things even worse, CCP broke drones autoattacking other players, especially gankers because they are assisting the MTU.

So you want a Noctis in a can?

I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.

I shouldn't even have to tell you what a bad idea this is.

It would be nice to be able to set the MTU to have the option to target the furthest contact first or the closest to be tractored.

It would be nice if CCP had never added the MTU in the first place.

I retract this last statement.

The MTU should not be a replacement to the noctis but what exactly is the role of the noctis? The MTU is a tractor unit. A piece of equipment designed to pull in wrecks and cans and loot them. The noctis could be tweaked to be a pure salvage ship. Remove the tractor bonuses and beef up the salvage bonuses. Here's what I'm thinking.

Replace the drone bay with a 100m3 bay specifically designed to store the MTU. Give the MTU more tractor beams, I'm talking 7 more to match the 8 salvagers on the noctis.

The MTU wouldn't replace the noctis. Instead the MTU would synergize with the noctis.

WRT some comments above, synergizing the two would mean seeing more [nocti?] out in space. I could've swore I remember seeing the nocits reach over 100m. Now their down to what? 70m?

Between salvage drones and the MTU, the noctis is practically replaced. Let's bring it back.

I want to see you salvage 80 wrecks in under 5 minutes with those ... then you can come and talk to me about the Noctis not being any use.

There was no need for the MTU in the first place, rather then twisting the working and efficient Noctis about, how about removing the MTU instead ?

And don*t you dare touch my Noctis , GRRRRRRRRRRRRR ... !!!Beware of the Pilot!!!

Yeah lets bring it back, get rid of salvage drones and MTU.
See cause what we have is power creep happening... in salvaging.
It used to be a real profession where someone could just do nothing but it and make several mil a day. Ofcourse it relied on other players to kill the ships, but it was worthwhile to just run missions and let some nub come in and do the salvaging for you. (I recall some l3s turning out an extra 10-15mil in salvage)
Ninja salvaging, was a worthwhile profession aswell, both because not everyone salvaged their missions, and because fewer people did it the market prices of rigs/salvage was higher.

Then they added the noctis, and salvaging became more worthless. And now with salvage drones and MTUs its honestly not worth the effort of trying to be a dedicated salvager.

But hey. Put corp newbies out of a job. (Legit several of my friends who started a couple weeks after I did with my main acct, plexed their accounts within the tutorial period, salvaging off of my l3s, some other friends l4s, and ninja salvaging. Now I get excited when coming off an l4 and having more than 3 mil in salvage)

Uh, Eve Forums, mang. People have to be told "this is a bad idea" all the time. Crap ideas should be, by now if not before, expected.

"Tomahawks?"

"----in' A, right?"

"Trouble is, those things cost like a million and a half each."

"----, you pay me half that and I'll hump in some c4 and blow the ---- out of it my own damn self."
