  • Virus strength capped at 40?
  • There exists no hard cap to the virus coherence and strength you could gain through bonus - the only limit is the limitation of module stats and skills.

  • Persistent location IDs in Wormholes? Not that easy
  • Making ID locations in wormholes persistent over downtime is often requested by the community. The game...

Devposts - Hyperion / Release date: August 26th
    [list]
  • Heavy assault cruiser tweaks
  • CCP Rise presents a balancing iteration on Heavy assault cruisers. The tracking and optimal range bonus for drones will drop from currently 7.5% to 5% per level. The Eagle and Muninn will receive a slight boost to their speed. In general CCP Rise emphasizes that it is currently better to do (one or more) smaller balancing iterations than one huge step.

  • Easily sharing overview settings
  • CCP Turtlepower presents a new additional overview-related feature: sharing your overview in game per drag&drop in chat. When you drag your current overview settings into a chat, a link will be created in chat that allows anyone who click on this link to copy and activate all the linked overview settings - warning messages included to prevent overview griefing. The current overview import/export functionality will stay. 'Restoring' your overview will be easy with this, as CCP karkur points out.

  • Jump Drive Economizer Modules
  • CCP Fozzie presents a set of low-slot modules that allow saving fuel when using a jump drive. These modules can be used only by Jump Freighters and Rorquals. The modules will not affect briding costs.

  • Second Static for C4s
  • As part of the wormhole update with Hyperion, class 4 wormholes will receive a second static wormhole. The second static wormhole for class 4 wormhole systems should be less predictable as they are in class 2 wormhole systems - it will lead to a different class of wormholes than your current wormhole class though. The developers are aware that the current PVE reward progression is not ideal between the different wormhole classes, that is looked into.

  • Mass-Based Spawn Distance After WH Jumps
  • When jumping through a wormhole, the jumped ship will spawn at a distance to the wormhole that is proportional to the mass of the jumped ship - the heavier the ship, the further away the jumped ship will spawn. The suggested distance ranges up to 20 km for an average dreadnought. Activated MWD (and included mass increase) will not afftect the spawn distance. A lot of discussion surrounds this suggestion, all the constructive feedback helps the developers!

  • Random WHs and the New Small Ship WHs
  • The spawn rate of wormholes that originate in wormhole space will be significantly increased with Hyperion. Introduced is also a new class of wormholes with a very low jump mass that can be only navigatable by frigates and destroyers. Those wormholes have a very high stable mass and will also regenerate mass over time - this means that they will be nearly impossible to collapse during their 16 hour lifespan. Those wormholes originate in wormhole space and lead only to wormhole or nullsec space.

  • Wormhole Effect Rebalance
  • The system effects in wormhole space (Black Holes, Cataclysmic Variables, Magnetars, Pulsars, Red Giants, Wolf Rayet) will be rebalanced with a nice boost to Black Holes that will support high speed missile skirmishing. The bonus on small weapons in Wolf Rayet systems will be increased further while systems with Cataclymic Variables will see a malus on remote cap transfer together with an improve of the local cap recharge rate. Magnetar systems get a new bonus to bomb damage including void and lockbreaker bombs but excluding a bonus to bomb hitpoints. The wormhole system effects do not apply to NPCs.

  • K162 Signatures Appearing on First Jump
  • Currently, as soon as the first player initiates warp to a new wormhole, the other side of that wormhole connection (the K162) appears and is visible to probes and to the sensor overlay in the destination system. With Hyperion we are planning to have K162 signatures appear as soon as the first player jumps through their wormhole connection. Once a wormhole has been jumped through once, the K162 signature will remain scannable for the lifetime of that wormhole. This scannable state will persist across downtimes.

  • Bookmarks and Bookmark Copying
  • Players in wormholes are the group of players that are using bookmarks most. To make life a bit easier for this group, but for everyone else too, the bookmark copying restrictions were loosened. This means that with Hyperion more bookmarks can be copied at once and that the copying itself should be significantly faster than currently. All the while work on the back-end system to allow alliance wide...

The player Cor'len wrote a C# port of the PI calculations and made them available for the public. Cor'len states that the calculations are highly accurate. The equations are also available on the EVElopedia. Thank you, Cor'len!

I'd just like to point out that the Pastebin version linked first is an earlier version; the one I posted on Evelopedia is a bit better and should be preferred.

Thank you for another weekly summary. Good Reading.

CCP's sand box is EVE Online.  The sand is owned by CCP.  We pay them a monthly fee to throw the sand at each other.  That is all that is here, so move along. Nothing more to be seen.
